As the Sr. Director of Trust & Safety (T&S), you will be responsible for ensuring Elance continues to be the safest and most trusted platform for online work. This includes owning all policies and programs that maintain the integrity of the site as well as the infrastructure for consistent application and enforcement of Elance's policies. In addition, you will lead the development of state-of-the-art fraud detection and enforcement programs, improve existing infrastructure by deploying new tools, analytics and techniques, and manage the performance of our contractor network.
In this role, you will:
•Own and enforce all polices that create a fair, safe, and efficient marketplace
•Establish the strategic and operating vision for the T&S organization
•Establish a scalable compliance operation to create, update, and enforce policies and the procedures to support them
•Manage the feedback and rating systems including policy and enforcement
•Leverage and create insightful analytics to monitor and predict behavior and institute procedures to identify and remove poor performers and/or violators
•Own the Elance protection programs
•Own and enforce Terms of Service, legal, regulatory and privacy compliance
•Deploy scalable fraud detection methods, tools, and analytics to identify and significantly reduce fraud related activity
•Take the leading role in establishing trust and building a strong relationship with the community while helping to ensure Elance's Trust & Safety is a key differentiator
In this role, you need:
•A deep passion for Elance. We are a unique company - we don't just sell something, we empower people around the world.
•A Bachelor's degree from a top school; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred
•7+ years experience in Trust or Risk Management; experience in predictive analytics would be valuable
•An analytical and process oriented approach to everything you do
•Proven track record of successfully reducing risk and increasing compliance
•The ability to drive initiatives and produce results cross functionally
•To be self-driven and able to work independently
•A natural ability interface with and influence customers
