Contract HR Specialist, Benefits & Payroll with Singleton Marine Group - Buford Georgia/Northeast Atlanta
We are looking for a contract HR Specialist for benefits and payroll. This is a possible temp-to-perm position.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Process payroll on a weekly basis for all locations.
2. Manage relationship with payroll service (currently ADP) to ensure that all payroll tax matters are handled in a timely fashion and that all W2s are processed annually.
3. Organize and centralize all employee files, properly maintain I9 forms, and e-verify new hires.
4. Administer all employee benefits. This includes reconciling and ensuring proper payment of benefit providers as well as handling all employee questions, new hire signup, annual open enrollments, and COBRA administration.
5. Complete journal entries for Accounting; weekly ones for payroll, and monthly ones for benefits deductions and commissions.
6. Create proper procedures regarding workers’ compensation, maintain 300 log for injuries, maintain files with doctor’s notes, work releases, annual WComp audit and all state required compliance.
7. Work with all locations to ensure that postings are maintained regarding federal and state employment laws.
8. General human resources duties include creation of offer letters, onboarding of employees, organizing employee training, and processing paperwork regarding termination of employees.
9. Work on other assigned special projects which may vary from time to time as determined by management.
Qualifications:
Education:
4 year degree in human resources, business administration or similar
Experience (Job and Industry):
5+ years benefit administration and payroll experience
Previous experience with web-based payroll system/HRIS, preferably ADP
Automotive or Boat dealership background is preferred
Skills:
Ability to work with limited supervision
