Principal Si Photonics Development Engineer
The individual will join our hybrid photonic integration team to develop advanced photonic technologies for multi-chip module (MCM) and chip-to-chip (C2C) optical interconnects. The successful candidate must have a strong understanding of semiconductor device physics, hands-on experience in the interface design between the electrical and optical domain, and familiarity with SOI fabrication and 3D integration. As a key member of the team, the individual will be responsible for designing basic photonic building blocks as well as interacting with outside foundries for the development. He/she will work closely with optical, RF and packaging engineers to develop low-cost solutions to opto-electronic packaging in 3D integration for MCM/C2C interconnect.
The position requires a minimum of an MS degree in physics or electrical engineering with 5 or more years of related experience. The ideal individual must have proven ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. The candidate should be self-motivated and self-directed with strong communication skill and ability to function in multi-task team environment.
