Sales Intern – Wind River Systems – Alameda, CA

Wind River has positions available for summer interns to work 10 weeks for 32-40 hour per week. We are looking for college undergrads or people in graduate studies. This is a paid internship. Wind River Systems is an exciting and growing company located in Alameda, California. We sell innovative software solutions to companies that design millions of the coolest smart devices in the world. The Sales Intern will be in a position to learn about how our solutions impact the success of our customers and how we help our customers get their products to market on time, with more reliable features and within their budgets.

Position Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Sales Operations and with the involvement and guidance of leaders in our Corporate Sales and Marketing departments, the sales intern will participate in data mining, researching our current and potential customers, learning about business trends. The successful candidate will be interested in learning about Wind River's customers and our customers' customers. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to think quantitatively and analytically.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct research utilizing the Internet and company databases
• Review Wind River's product portfolio, software solutions and reference deals to understand what we sell and the business and technical issues we solve for our customers.
• Analyze data that drives successful business decisions and the data needs of the sales department
• Perform competitive research and analyze trends
• Perform company and contact web-based research to complete and update CRM data
• Create customer profiles to define target characteristics for leads and lead scoring
• Help to develop and qualify new sales prospects within targeted device manufacturing companies
• Learn to navigate the sales database
• Attend sales meetings by invitation

Requirements:

• Ability to analyze, interpret and apply processes
• Enthusiastic, dependable, positive team player.
• Quantitative and analytical skills.
• Naturally intuitive and curious about data.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Salesforce.com and various CRM databases.
