We are looking for a Product Manager contractor for a client opportunity at a large, high technology company. This is an inbound product management role working with the client to define, build and launch new software defined networking (SDN) solutions.
This is an ongoing 40 hour per week contract role with 6 month contracts. This role is open to candidates anywhere in the country, but there is a preference for Bay Area, CA candidates.
The Product Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, operations, finance, and customer support to develop business strategy and product plans. The focus is on inbound product execution, MRD development, PRD creation, roadmap planning and working with engineering on product development efforts.
Responsibilities:
• Understand SDN market landscape and define the client´s competitive position and advantage within the current market; understand target market needs
• Develop MRD to define market opportunity and high level product requirements
• Create Product Requirement Documentations to communicate customer requirements to engineering teams to ensure proper requirement scoping and solution development
• Collaborate with other product and solution teams to create and manage product solution and collateral
• Lead market trials of new product and solution to ensure success of product go-to-market and excellence of user experiences and product quality
• Assist with product launch activities
Requirements:
• 5+ years networking technology experience
• 5+ year product management experiences in large high technology companies
• Preferred, some experience and/or knowledge of Software Defined Networking solutions
• Preferred, virtualization solution experience
• Good project organization skills
• Great team player with ability to get work done independently
• Ability to effectively work with global teams
• Bachelor's degree or above
