Location: Santa Cruz, CA

The Director of Benefits and Compensation is responsible for overall strategy, design, communication and administration of the Company's employee benefit and compensation programs including; health & welfare, defined contribution, incentive, and stock plans. Ensure that the benefit and compensation programs support the organization's strategic objectives and meet all state and federal legal requirements. Builds and maintain the positive and influencing relationship with consultants, insurance carriers, brokers, actuaries and trustees. Negotiates and contracts with benefit plan providers, vendors, auditors, and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administration. Effectively communicates Comp and Benefit programs throughout the organization; positions programs as a strategic differentiator in the war for talent. Manages leads and develops the Compensation and Benefits Team.
Requirements:
• 7+ years of dedicated Compensation and Benefits expertise.
• Progressive career in the Human Resources space, including leading teams and programs.
• Experience working for a retail or service organization with multi-location is preferred.
• Metrics-minded.
• Extensive background in Compensation and Benefits.
• Experience running an RFP process and subsequent negotiations.
• Strong understanding of Regulatory Compliance.
• Must demonstrate the ability to handle confidential information with discretion and maturity.
• Ability to manage customer relationships, provide strong customer service and work in a team environment.
• Ability to identify and properly handle complex issues requiring a high level of decision making.
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong strategic thinking, as well as technical, analytical, and hands-on execution skills are required.
