Crawford Communications Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a Sponsorship and Exhibit Sales Manager for a project based assignment with one of our high tech. The Sponsorship and Exhibit Sales Manager is responsible for securing money through the sales of exhibitor/sponsorship packages for two client conferences slated in October and November 2014. The Manager creates sponsorship and exhibitor packages according to client specification by targeting partners whom the client has pre-identified. The Manager is required to attend weekly sponsorship update meetings, sales update meetings and conference planning meetings.
The successful candidate has a demonstrated track record of sponsorship and exhibit sales management, is highly accountable, self-directed, organized and detail oriented. Diplomacy, tact and a sense of humor are important factors of success in this role.
Specific responsibilities:
Secure funds through sales of sponsorship packages by targeting partners that client has already identified
Allocate exhibit space to each partner along with other benefits associated with each level of sponsorship, keeping all sponsorship opportunities up to date
Attend weekly sponsorship update meetings, sales update meetings and conference planning meetings as required
Utilize telephone solicitation, electronic and written correspondence and face-to-face meetings as tools in order to reach and exceed the budgeted sponsorship target for each conference
Maintain and update list of targeted sponsors for each conference
Maintain sales dashboard and decline list of sponsors on a daily basis
Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential sponsorship clients and exhibitors
Keep precise records of conversations with all clients, sponsors and exhibitors
Update the �all related� database as required
Work with Sponsor program lead and finance team to hand off sponsor once agreements have been reached
Coordinate various services for clients
Assist in preparing promotional material to advertise sales opportunities
Maintain knowledge of conference timelines and sponsorship deadlines
Delegate administrative functions to assistants when possible
Professionally represent Crawford Group and clients' brands at all times
Skills:
7-10 years of corporate or vendor side experience including 2-4 years of sponsorship and conference/tradeshow exhibit sales program/strategy management experience required. International exhibit/sponsorship sales a strong plus.
Ability to effectively plan and execute upon sales strategy
A baseline understanding of audience demographics and how to sell to these audience targets, ideally including selling to partners
Ability to negotiate on behalf of both the client and partner to achieve maximum benefit for both parties
Ability to establish and master goals, identify and develop accounts
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to understand financial statements, budgets and cash flow
Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve issues independently
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization or process exists
Ability to act independently with minimal or no supervision
Excellent knowledge of a variety of sales and presentation software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint a must
Knowledge and understanding of the high tech market space is a plus
Bachelor's degree with Marketing or Business Administration emphasis is desirable
Valid driver's license required
RATE: D.O.E., as W-2 employee of Crawford Group; benefits available
LOCATION: 90% onsite at Crawford Group office in Campbell, CA; 10% offsite at clients' office in Sunnyvale, CA. Local, S.F. Bay area applicants only, please. No phone calls.
