Payroll Specialist

This position will be responsible for processing WRS, Inc US | Biweekly Payroll. Responsible for reviewing employee information received from HR and employees, and for updating the ADP payroll system. Prepare monthly payroll journal entries. The position reports directly to the Payroll Manager.

Main Responsibilities:

- Co Code ESD (Biweekly/Non-Exempt employees)
- ADP Time Attendance � US Maintenance (main person)
- ADP Time Attendance � Canada Maintenance (main person)
- ADP Portal Administration (reset passwords; resolve issues)
- Back up for JFW (Canada Payroll)
- Back up for Sr Payroll Specialists when on vacation/on leave (A21, A25)
- Assist with Special Projects
- ESD � Biweekly Payroll
- ADP/HR Integration
- Convert Exempt employees to Non-Exempt/Biweekly payroll (2014)
- Other Special Projects

Other Responsibilities include:

- Process new hires, terminations, payroll file maintenance changes and deductions.
- Process salary increases and if applicable, retro payments.
- Review and import 3rd party information for biweekly payroll processing.
- Review time sheets and calculate overtime hours based on government regulations and company policy.
- Process child support, wage assignments, and garnishments.
- Prepare and provide biweekly and monthly payroll related reports to HR, FP&A, GL and other Accounting and Finance Departments.
- Prepare monthly payroll related journal entries.
- Audit payroll register and other ADP reports.
- Generate payroll reports using ADP Reporting based on requests and needs.
- Coordinate and plan year-end W-2 processing.
- Support worker's compensation, 401(k) and FSA audits.
- Provide information to employees and managers on payroll matters, tax issues and benefit deductions.
- Interface with outside payroll service (ADP), government agencies, and other vendors in seeking resolutions to problems and issues. .
- Provide ESPP contribution file to Stock Administration for semi-annual stock purchase.
- Ensure Sox compliance regarding payroll processes.

Requirements:

- 5+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with Workforce Now Payroll and ADP Reporting.
- Experience with US and Canadian payroll preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with high level of customer service
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
- Accounting background highly desired
- BS in Business or Accounting highly preferred
- Must be a team player and able to work in a fast pace and rapidly changing environment
