Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is looking for a Program Manager of Executive Training - China Initiative, located in the San Jose/Bay Area who proficiently speaks and writes in English and Mandarin Chinese. The Program Manager will lead communications, logistics and metrics for 2-4 leader training events per year.
Each executive training program is attended by 18-22 enterprise executives, CIO/IT directors or government officials from China. Leadership training is conducted mainly in the US and lasts 12-14 days including two weekends in May, September and November 2015. Smaller programs can be 3-5 days in duration. Most programs are located in the San Jose/Bay Area but may involve traveling to another city in the US. Each program includes lectures, panel discussions, site visits, cultural and recreational activities. The Program Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the planning and execution of the program (except agenda development and speaker invitation). The Program Manager will work with internal client teams in China and the US, external partners and vendors to execute the program.
The ideal consultant is a flexible, diplomatic, event/marketing professional with exceptional attention to detail and a positive attitude. Candidates must have excellent communications skills, work well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task on several projects simultaneously to completion.
Responsibilities:
Oversee program planning and execution: Understand work modules, connect and integrate different work modules, assign virtual team staff roles and responsibilities
Lead event logistics, planning and execution: Venue selection, hotel sourcing, booking travel, transportation planning, airport and hotel check-in process, site checks, meeting room set-up and monitor, A/V set-up, interpreter booking and scheduling, badge and tent cards, vendor selection and management, budget management, invoice and payment tracking and management, translation management, bi-lingual attendee list and program agenda maintenance, detailed daily schedule and tasks
Assist course designer in content management: Collect presentations, speaker biographies, manage translation process (with a translation agency), oversee content readiness for classroom delivery and iPad delivery
Proactively identify and resolve potential issues and conflicts within core team and cross-functional teams
Schedule and facilitate weekly update meetings, track and monitor action items and distribute status reports
Skills:
Successful candidates will have 5+ years combined event and/or marketing program management experience with increasing responsibilities. Technology company experience preferred
Fluency in Mandarin Chinese (verbal and written), as well as knowledge and experience of mainland Chinese culture
Must be detail-oriented, have proven experience with a challenging workload, the ability to deliver under pressure while remaining calm and organized in a changing environment
Effective communication, problem-solving and collaboration with cross-functional teams located in different geographies is also essential to achieving success in this position
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
Bachelors' degree
Rate: D.O.E. as a w2 employee of Crawford Group, benefits available
Location: Primarily offsite/WFH/telecommute/remote. Transitions to 100% onsite at clients' office in San Jose, CA during the two weeks preceding each event in May, September and November 2015, then transitions back to primarily offsite/WFH/telecommute/remote. Must have flexibility to travel within the United States (if needed) for 2-14 days in May, September and November 2015 to support events. Local Bay Area candidates only, no phone calls, please.
