We are looking to add an exceptional VMware Developer to join our team of senior, experienced developers in our Data Protection Business Unit.    Quest's Data Protection solutions minimize system downtime, prevent data loss and ensure business continuity.  Help us create the next generation of products that will:

  • Back up and recover data in physical, virtual and application environments
  • Deliver scalable technology that meets the needs of small and large organizations
  • Provide continuous, real-time data backup and replication for mission-critical data
  • Provide application and database level backup and recovery

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design and develop real-time continuous backup/recovery software for mission critical applications;
  • Be a key person responsible for Windows driver research and development;
  • Investigate and debug complex issues, and analyze the root cause;
  • Maintain existing code, including code re-engineering and re-factoring;

Minimum Qualifications:

  •          Clear understanding of NT kernel architecture, including recently implemented features (Win2008) with focus on file system (NTFS) architecture;
  •          3+ years experience implementing Minifilters, Legacy File System Filters for x86/x64 production systems.
  •          Solid practical experience in kernel debugging (WinDbg), ability to resolve complex issues;
  •          System software development for the Windows platform with 5+ years of experience, strong knowledge of Windows API;
  •          Experience with multi-threaded programming, kernel and user-mode synchronization;
  •          Object-oriented design;
  •          Proficiency in C or C++ with 7+ years of experience; knowledge of ASM x86/x64;
  •          Tools and APIs: VDDK, vStorage API, STL;
Desired:
  •          Familiarity with kernel support of virtualization technologies (HyperV, VMWare);
  •          Knowledge of the design of distributed systems, client-server application model;
  •          Experience in development of Linux kernel modules;
  •          Experience with networking protocols, particularly TCP/IP.

·         Networking: FC, iSCSI, vSwitch, vLAN, vNetwork, vmkernel port binding

·         Hypervisor: HA, DRS, FT, vMotion, sVMotion, vSphere

·         Protocols: CIFS, NFS, FTP, SFTP

·         VCP certification
