The Unicode consortium has an opening for a part-time Office Manager. The job ranges from ½ to ¾ time depending on work planned. Initially, it will begin at ¾ time.
RESPONSIBILITIES include:
Managing office, bookkeeping, maintaining membership database, tracking 3 employees' payroll and benefits, arranging meetings and occasionally recording minutes, helping with website updates, responding to email inquiries, supporting multiple off-site officers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Office or project manager/administrator with a minimum of 5 years experience in corporate or similar setting
• Ability to run the office operations for a small non-profit business on a daily basis with little oversight
• Competent using a computer and normal applications (email, web searching, word processor etc.). PC work environment.
• Database maintenance (Access)
• Accounting (QuickBooks)
• Ability to work solo with limited people contact, but able to communicate well on the phone and in person, as the need arises. Most communication is via email and monthly meetings.
• Reports to a VP.
• Ability to learn quickly, deal with ambiguity, and handles detail processes
• Full knowledge of multiple office applications
• Flexible hours
