Principal Database Protocol Engineer ( Core strengths in database network protocols) (track record of success) Local Candidates Pls
Responsibilities
Lead the design and implementation of software to profile traffic exchanged between a database server and application server.
Contribute to the overall design covering the integration of this capability into Silver Tail's HTTP behavior analytics tool to enhance its capability to correlate HTTP and database traffic.
Requirements
Domain expert in database network protocols (such as Oracle Transparent Network Substrate (TNS)) that are used to exchange SQL operations between applications/clients and database servers.
Deep experience with one of these; Oracle TNS, Microsoft SQL server, MySQL Internal Client
Server Protocol, Postgres and IBM DB2
Ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in software engineering
Experience in multi-threaded, distributed, systems is also a key element for this role
Strong Linux, TCP/IP, HTTP skills are a plus
Strong self-starter with a desire to truly make a difference
Proven track record of accomplishments in their career
Must have one of the following C++, Python or Java (or C at a pinch) expertize
