The nanoInstruments Division provides complete analytical tool solutions to the failure analysis and yield analysis groups in the semiconductor industry.  This product division is focused on designing, building, and selling nanomanipulation / nanoprobing systems that are used in conjunction with scanning electron microscopes (SEM).  

 

The product line ranges from a 4-positioner accessory nanoprober to an 8-positioner, semi-automated nanoprobing system which includes and is completely integrated with a SEM.  These nanoInstruments systems can be found in the labs of nearly all semiconductor manufacturers worldwide.

Description and Responsibilities

In this role you will be responsible for all engineering aspects of this product line including specification, development, qualification, support, and product/project planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle. You will be directly responsible (hands-on) for the mechanical engineering aspects of the projects as well as direct management of the engineering team and working closely with sales, marketing and technical support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.


Qualifications

 

Required:

  • Mechanical design, analysis, and integration of semiconductor capital equipment
  • Direct management of engineering team including electrical, systems, software and mechanical
  • Work with sales and marketing to develop clear requirements based on customer needs, travel to customer sites is required to support this
  • Develop or modify existing specifications to clearly define product requirements
  • Create and manage the engineering development plan
  • Develop a qualification plan and support transition to manufacturing and Beta customers
  • Work with internal and external resources to ensure DCG Systems has the needed and qualified technologies to meet the product requirements
  • Approve acceptance criteria for equipment and technology acquired from outside suppliers
  • Work with the customer project installation team and understand and respond to site specific issues
  • Responsible for being a "hands on" manager who directly contributes the mechanical portion and  is proficient in leading a team in the integration of inertial sensors, modules and embedded software to develop a test equipment solution for semiconductor manufacturing applications
  • Manage engineering team, provide all work direction, interface with customers for detailed requirements definition, allocate resources among conflicting priorities, and provide oversight and direction for all projects
  • Play an active role in customer proposal generation, requirements planning, customer expectation management, solution delivery as well as problem resolution

 

Preferred:

 

  • 8+ years experience in technical equipment manufacturing and product development and 3+ years in direct management experience.
  • Demonstrated competence with high tech semiconductor manufacturing plant requirements and processes
  • Ability to manage projects and schedules with domestic and international travel approximately 10 % to 20% of the time to customer sites and suppliers
  • Demonstrated experience with quality systems, corrective action plans, lean manufacturing and outsourcing
  • Experience with semiconductor capital equipment or related equipment desired
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (English), analytical tools and MS Office
  • Work with Marketing / R&D and key vendors on marketing activities, competition analysis and product roadmap
  • Create customer specific solutions with pre-sales and post-sales technical support, feasibility verification, response to project implantation and local support
  • Develop sales tools and collateral
  • Proficient in Solidworks

  • Ability to integrate global standards and regulations into design
  • Ability to travel as required, <10% of the time
  • Working conditions require the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, climb stairs, work at a computer station and on manufacturing shop floor
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs; occasionally lift 40 lbs


Education

  • BS or advance degree in Mechanical Engineering or Physics preferred.


Additional Information

  • The ideal candidate should have 8 or more years hands-on experience in four (4) or more of the following areas:
    • Vacuum systems
    • SEM
    • TEM
    • FIB
    • Semiconductor failure analysis 
    • Precision stage and motion control experience

Position is physically located in Richardson, TX.
