OVERALL FUNCTION
Reporting to the Director of Consumer Finance, the Finance Manager is a key member of the strategic and financial planning of Peet's Food Service and Office Coffee business. This role partners closely with the Senior Director of Sales, Food Service, providing perspectives and expertise to maximize the financial performance of the channel. This individual is responsible for optimizing reporting, forecasting, and budgeting processes, while proactively identifying opportunities for improved results and providing the necessary analysis to guide decisions.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Serve as the finance lead in all aspects of Peet's Food Service and Office Coffee, demonstrating a relentless focus on driving enhanced business results.
• Evaluate and approve all proposed channel capital investment. Work closely with team to structure new deals to maximize the financial and strategic return.
• In partnership with the General Manager, establish long-term goals for the business and identify and quantify the initiatives to achieve them.
• Lead the annual budget cycle for Peet's Food Service and Office Coffee business, including the development of channel P&Ls and department overhead plans.
• Develop regular P&L forecast. Validate and analyze monthly results and identify any necessary action steps in response to key variances.
• Lead the creation of reporting packages to provide business partners with timely and easy-to-understand summaries of financial results. Highlight results to leadership team and provide recommended actions.
• Work with sales and marketing team on business-driving initiatives, providing the financial framework to support decisions and to analyze results.
• Represent Finance on various cross-functional project teams.
• Work on ad hoc initiatives outside of Food Service /Office channel as needed
• Serve as a champion for cost management and waste reduction across the company.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 5 years of direct finance and accounting experience, ideally at a retail or consumer-driven brand company. Experience with retail or consumer packaged goods financials a plus.
• Thrives in a fluid business environment and is able to juggle multiple tasks and reprioritize with ease. Track record of good decisions when facing new and unfamiliar challenges.
• Exceptional results orientation, with a high degree of personal initiative and leadership.
• Outstanding analytical skills and a proven ability to connect data analysis with business issues and decisions. Advanced Excel and modeling skills.
• Superior professionalism, discretion, and judgment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven success at building cross-functional relationships.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate with senior leadership effectively.
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance or related business field, MBA preferred.
