The Engagement Manager (EM) requires drive, passion, and flexibility. It is 100% client facing, which means this role is all about establishing and sustaining long-term relationships with our clients. The EM is accountable for business development and managing client relationships and engagements. Wowing clients and exceeding their expectations is a top priority.

This is a highly matrixed role that requires constant communication, a dedication to partnering with internal and external teams, and a passion for producing excellent results.

Job Responsibilities
Engagement Management (50%):
Accountable for delivering on promises to our clients throughout the lifecycle of the contracted engagement.
Set client expectations and provide oversight for engagement kick-off prior to the start of each new project:
* Support the establishment of charge codes and a high-level project timeline; enable deliverable acceptance and reporting procedures.
* Ensure legal, fiscal and personnel policies (policy approvals, time conformance, engagement length, client invoicing, travel and expenses, etc.) are honored and revenue recognition is accurately forecasted and tracked.
* Oversee the review of client deliverables to ensure they meet all client acceptance criteria, and secure sign-off on each deliverable as defined in the SOW
* Ensure client expectations are being met throughout the lifecycle of the engagement through direct, regular contact with project sponsor/s

Oversight of client-related projects:
* Mentor team working on the implementation related to context, client imperatives, client culture, strategic advice and industry trends.
* Oversee project manager and consultant team throughout the project lifecycle (e.g. initiation, kick off, delivery, and closure).
* Support project manager to identify/resolve any risk/mitigations/issues that could impact project scope and/or timeframes.
* Review customer project dashboard (detail high-profile projects, key dates, project milestones, target ship dates, issues, etc.) for management visibility.
* Prepare detailed and accurate Statements of Work and receive cross-functional sign-off as well as client sign-off before authorizing work.

Ensure the project is delivered on time and within the budget outlined in the SOW:
* Review SOWs regularly to ensure project delivery meets contract expectations.
* Support project manager with change orders that are outside the scope of the SOW.
* Review consultants��� and partners��� billable hours and expenses weekly.
* Assess client satisfaction and address issues that may negatively impact client satisfaction or project outcomes.
* Escalate issues to leadership that require corrective action on projects that don���t meet quality, schedule, budget, or client satisfaction targets.
* Function as the point of escalation for all delivery issues that cannot be solved by delivery team, serve as the central point of contact with Future State for our clients and partner with all service delivery and practice delivery teams to ensure cohesion and adherence to Future State brand.
* Manage engagements to support Future State best practice delivery.
* Attend Executive Steering Committee meetings as needed (internal/ external).
* Communicate customer requirements and implementation details to Future State teams and coordinate cross-functional support as needed.
* Expertly balance multiple engagements and/or clients.
* Build own time into engagements as appropriate to mitigate risk and to achieve required level of billable utilization (at least 50%).

Business Development (50%):
Accountable for entire client relationship, function as the champion to identify and define value-based solutions, deliver outcomes and maintain trusted advisor credibility with our clients.
* Drive new business via the relationships that are developed and nurtured through oversight of engagements. This includes building business with existing clients as well as proactively seeking introductions to new clients.
* Conduct market research on Future State vertical industries and identify high potential clients.
* Develop expertise in Future State���s vertical markets.
* Stay current in knowledge of industry relevant trends.
* Proactively seek out networking opportunities as a Future State business development leader.
* Actively participate in memberships for relevant professional associations.
* Participate in the sales cycle to gather requirements, evaluate potential projects, formulate delivery approach and develop a proposal/SOW.
* Structure pricing for new opportunities, write proposals, deliver proposal presentations, and negotiate and structure the consulting engagement.
* Work with the resource management team to identify and assign consultants to engagements by ensuring that appropriate skills requirements are identified and resource requests are submitted in a timely manner.

Background Criteria
* Bachelor���s degree required, Master���s degree desired.
* Experience in Life Sciences industry.
* 8-10 years of related experience.
* Professional services background with practitioner experience (i.e.: project management, change management, communications, learning and development, etc.).
* Experience leading complex teams and delivering complex projects.
* Solid grounding in change management, communications and learning development service offerings.
* Working knowledge and understanding of the basic principles, theories, concepts, and practices in project management.
* Proficient with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, Clarizen, and Box.
