Position Responsibilities – Summary

 

The Client Applications Senior Systems Analyst, a member of the broader Client Reporting Team, will support and have exposure to the firm’s Global Relationship Group (GRG) as well as Product Management, Equities, Fixed Income, and Quantitative Analysis functions. Key responsibilities will include ensuring accurate reporting of client investments, timely resolution of client-initiated questions, and responsive communications and analysis back to the users or other teams. Key areas of focus include investment analytics, portfolio characteristics, data set queries, time-series analysis, application support, and client reporting guidance and interpretation.  This role will provide broad exposure to many teams and areas of investment management.

 

Required Skills and Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Business, Economics, Finance or related subject plus two to five years business analysis or systems analysis experience in the investment management or financial services environments.  Previous experience must also include:

 

·          Investigate data issues relating to client reporting, equity, and fixed income analytics

·          Work with multiple support team to investigate and resolve data-related or reporting incidents

·          Implement data quality checks to proactively capture and resolve data issues

·          Interpret, clarify, and resolve unfocused and ambiguous requests

·          Translate business and IT terms and requirements for IT and business audiences, respectively

·          Demonstrate familiarity with one or more asset classes, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, and cash instruments

·          Demonstrate mastery of intermediate and advanced Excel techniques

·          Possess moderate familiarity with SQL queries

·          Solve problems in a comprehensive and timely manner

·          Demonstrate collaboration as well as proficient written and verbal communication skills

·          Possess two to five years of experience across one or more domains, including client support, financial analysis, data reconciliation, quantitative analysis, and portfolio management.

·          Show progress towards advancing investment knowledge or passing the CFA

Keys to this Position:

1)    This is a Support role in the Data Forensics group working across the Business Development function troubleshooting and problem solving questions related to Investment Data.

2)    Domain knowledge:  The candidate will have a CFA or will be making progress toward a CFA.  Strong and broad knowledge of multiple asset classes and an understanding of investment workflow is required. 

3)    Technical:  Must know SQL to extract data and must have strong advanced Excel skills. 

4)    Strong communication skills are required.
