Summary:

Our ideal candidate will work with a geographically distributed systems operation team to manage, maintain, install, recommend, and support Windows based messaging, application and database servers.

Will also consider a more junior person – Must have Windows Server experience at a minimum.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Daily administration and operation of a corporate data center and remote facilities maximizing availability

· Work with a focus on IT security. Implementing hardened systems, and dynamically remediating new vulnerabilities throughout the environment.

· Ensure thorough server backups and disaster recovery plans exist for all production IS systems

· Install, test, maintain, design and document supporting systems, utility programs and monitoring tools

· Windows server operating system support

· Evaluates new hardware and software solutions

· Perform backups and restores

· Act as liaison between operations, helpdesk and networks to ensure continuity of service to the user community.

· Participate in after hours on-call rotation, supporting Global IS availability of critical systems

Required Skills & Competencies:

Essential Skills:

· Previous experience in Systems Administration

· VMware ESXi

· Windows Server Operating Systems

· Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, TCP/IP

· Strong analytical troubleshooting skills

· The ability to work both as part of a larger team and independently to solve problems

Beneficial Skills:

· Management of enterprise backup technologies such as Symantec Netbackup, Quest Vranger, and Microsoft Data Protection Manager.

· Exposure to Microsoft enterprise applications such as Systems Center, Forefront, IIS, and SQL

· Management of EMC Isilon, and VNX storage arrays

· Management of Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop and Netscalar load balancers

· Functional knowledge of current best practices for securing servers, pc’s and data centers

· IP switching, routing and networking troubleshooting

Education:

· BS in Computer Science from 4 year college or university, or at least 6 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
