Job Description:
The Senior Director, Infrastructure reports to the SVP of Development and has overall responsibility for the strategic direction and management of our rapidly growing web operations organization. Works closely with engineering, quality assurance, and other stakeholders to identify the key operational requirements and service level agreements needed to provide and support world-class web applications for our customers. The VP provides leadership, vision, and direction for the rest of the web operations team.
Required Skills:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience; MS/MBA preferred
10+ years technology management experience concentrated in Infrastructure Operations
5+ years experience leading an organization that supports and manages web=based applications
Demonstrated skill level in leading high-performance teams
Excellent knowledge of open source and virtualization is critical for this role
Must have proven ability to scale and optimize infrastructure operations in a firm successfully
Ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with customer facing heavy traffic web sites with 24/7/365 requirements
Excellent written and verbal skills
Broad technical knowledge in software, hardware, and networking
Experience in managing third-party technology vendor relationships
Responsibilities / Performance Requirements:
Plan, direct, and coordinate all activities of a team of developers and architects
Prioritize and allocate projects and resources with the assistance of architects and managers
Participate in the strategic decisions about technology, definition, and implementation of the applications/software products
Assist in the development and delivery of custom web applications from concept to completion
