We are looking for a seasoned Senior Level Competitive Analyst, Servers & Virtualized Solutions for a full-time opportunity with a Global High Technology Company to develop and maintain knowledge of emerging markets and competitive threats to the company and its partners for the purpose of providing consultative guidance across the company.
The successful candidate will be a "go to" person globally for the assigned area(s) of competitive expertise. This means maintaining an "expert" level (deep and wide) understanding of the competitive marketplace (products, technology, marketing messaging & sales tactics) with the objective of giving competitive advantages that will generate more business. In addition, they will provide ongoing competitive analysis support to: (a) second level field personnel such as field Product Managers (b) HQ teams such as Product Marketing, Product Management, and CTO/Strategy Team, and (c) the Corporate Communications Team.
Key Activities:
• Ability to analyze, deconstruct, and assess the strengths and weaknesses of competitive offerings.
• Track and analyze industry trends and announcements that can potentially have an influence on the market acceptance of Company´s technology solutions.
• Author detailed competitive analysis reports and presentations for the Company and Channel Partner Sales organization.
• Research and author detailed competitive analysis in support of business development, product management, product marketing, and specific launch announcement events.
• Peer review materials produced by other members of the internal support team in a accurate and timely basis.
CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:
• Minimum of 10 years industry experience.
• Must possess strong technical knowledge related to server technologies.
• Sound understanding of the IT Market and technology trends influencing current and future integrated solution architectures.
• Previous experience in a pre-sales leadership role and/or product management/product marketing is desirable.
• Capability to manage multiple initiatives and projects with minimal guidance.
• Able to work strongly in a team atmosphere and collaborate with others within and across Global Competitive Marketing, Product Marketing and Product Management.
• Function as a specific subject matter expert within the company, and with customer and industry analysts (Gartner, IDC, ESG, etc.).
• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; MBA degree is a plus.
This position could be located anywhere in the U.S. and requires up to 30-40% travel time with requirement to support stays of extended duration from 10 days to 2 weeks, 1 to 2 times per year .
