We are currently seeking a Marketing Manager for our Technology and Life Sciences Group to be located in our San Francisco, Silicon Valley or Orange County office. The Marketing Manager will manage and implement all marketing functions for the Technology and Life Sciences Group including; planning, research, strategy, marketing communications, marketing campaigns, and results analysis. This position is part of the Marketing and Sales team at Moss Adams, and requires strong project management, collaboration, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position reports jointly to the Associate Director of Marketing and the Industry Group Chairs.
Responsibilities:
High Impact Responsibilities -
-Drive the group's/industry's top-line goals for billings growth, Western Initiative clients, and value added percentage.
-Become an industry expert for the assigned industry, thoroughly understanding the current business climate and issues facing the industry while anticipating and planning for the future of the industry.
-Create and distribute value-added content, further enhancing Moss Adams' reputation within the industry.
-Together with the IGL, develop new strategies to improve top-line performance (e.g. strategies for better performance or new market opportunities)
-Assist office group leaders and office marketing coordinators/managers in developing and achieving their office-specific goals.
-Together with the IGL, hold office group leaders accountable for their marketing/sales responsibilities and compliance with industry group marketing/sales processes.
Innovate and improve processes.
Specific Responsibilities:
In order to deliver the expected results, the GMM will also be responsible for implementing the following group-wide tactics to drive the group's top-line goals.
-Conduct regular market assessments to quantify opportunities and uncover new opportunities.
-Conduct annual billing analysis, primary and/or secondary research to prepare for annual planning cycle.
-Together with IGL and office group leaders, create a Firm-wide industry group marketing plan and budget to achieve group's goals.
-Actively participate in the group's executive committee meetings.
-Write the marketing sections of the group's strategic plan. Work closely with office marketers and office group leaders to effectively plan marketing activities for reaching the office's industry goal.
-Visit leading offices/regions at least semi-annually (during planning and post-busy season).
-Conduct monthly teleconferences with relevant parties.
-Develop the industry's target list and post it to SharePoint. Vet list with office leaders, as necessary and when no office marketers are present in key markets.
-Manage creation, implementation and updating of all industry marketing collateral and internal/external Web site copy.
-Together with industry leaders, choose key topics where Moss Adams should be visible and coordinate the development and distribution (printed and digital) of such content. Work closely with office marketing on local activation of developed content.
-Build/strengthen relationships with association and tradeshow leaders as well as editors, publishers.
-Pursue and secure industry-relevant speaking engagements for subject matter experts.
-Pursue, coordinate and maximize all media opportunities within leading trade publications (printed and digital). Review editorial calendars and prioritize meaningful opportunities. Oversee and approve creation of industry-based, client-facing marketing being done at the office level.
-Brand and industry oversight.
-Consider and evaluate co-branding opportunities with industry leaders in other disciplines where partnerships could enhance reputation with and exposure to target market.
-Evaluate, choose and maximize Firm-wide industry-based sponsorship opportunities.
-Provide input and insight into sales proposals, as requested.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required; Major in marketing or communications preferred; MBA preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of marketing experience required; Experience in professional services industry preferred
Management skills to lead, coach, and train
Analytical thinker with influence skills. Creative and persistent problem solver
Excellent writing and strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels
Able to multi-task, prioritize workload. and meet deadlines
Client service oriented (both internal and external)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Willingness to travel to the industry's key geographical markets as well as to marketing meetings/conferences.
Driver's license and appropriate insurance
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to effectively handle sensitive situations and confidential information. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.
