APCO Worldwide, recently named Large PR Agency of 2011 by PRNews, has an opening for a highly organized and self-starting individual to coordinate and support the day-to-day business and administrative operations of its growing San Francisco office. The position is a part-time role with an anticipated work schedule of 20-30 hours per week.
Our San Francisco office, which launched earlier this year, is a small, close knit group of colleagues who work on a range of strategic communications and brand reputation projects for high profile and globally recognized brands in conjunction with other APCO offices. As the office coordinator, you will be an integral partner to senior level staff members and provide support to them with their day-to-day activities. Those activities entail supporting the administrative aspects of business development and marketing activities for the office including helping to identify action items; create, edit and/or proofread documents, presentations, contracts and agreements; and coordinate events meetings and travel arrangements. You may also be responsible for facilitating contract development for new client projects in conjunction with APCO's legal and finance staff in DC. You will also support basic accounting needs including tracking of project and office budgets and expenses, processing check requests and assisting with monthly billing of clients. The position will also be responsible for traditional office management responsibilities including keeping the office well supplied, taking care of shipping, reception, and basic IT needs.
A successful candidate will have two or more years of administrative or office management experience that includes fiscal responsibilities, excellent communication and customer service skills and the ability to multi-task. A high level of proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint also required. A roll your sleeves up mentality essential; prior experience in a start-up environment ideal.
Besides rewarding work and an energized work environment, APCO offers an award-winning training program, opportunities for international exchanges, and a competitive compensation and benefits package. EOE M/F/V/D
