Senior Solutions Arcitect-
Drobo is looking for an enthusiastic Solutions Architect to evangelize all Drobo
products. As a member of a small exceptional team, this senior role has a global
focus supporting Worldwide Sales and Marketing and is the key resource on the
team as it relates to developing solution materials and designing Drobo offerings within the technology ecosystem. This person will have expert IT knowledge of industry and technology trends and use prescriptive measures to give customers and partners strong
guidance in the choosing the best technical Drobo storage solutions for their
IT environment. Specific knowledge of small and medium business IT is a very strong plus.
The ideal candidate for this role will have the tenacity for understanding customer
requirements and articulate the value proposition to a variety of end user
customer and reseller partner audiences. Activities are balanced between
solutions development and architecture resulting in document and media assets,
and consulting with customers to recommend or architect the best solution for
their environment. Audience engagement worldwide is primarily using
webcastdelivery (GoToMeeting), response to e-mail questions, with occasional
live engagement at tradeshow expos and customer visits. A key component of this
role is the ability to work jointly with the sales team and engineering teams
in the Drobo corporate office. Travel is anticipated to be <25%, focused aroundselect
industry events and planned partner trainings and customer visits.
Essential Responsibilities
• Solution architecture, positioning, and competitive analysis
• Creation / delivery of compelling written solution content, demos, and rich media assets
• Product and solution testing to drive solution marketing assets
• Creation and delivery of product training to all audiences (Support, Sales, Partners, others)
• Delivery of end-user webcasts, presentations at industry events
• Consult with customers based on their environment and requirements, actively probing for sales opportunities
• Assist partners by validating designs and solutions for customer opportunities
• Maintenance of solution content on Drobo internal and external web properties
• Collaborate on solution testing roadmap planning and communication
• Other duties as required
Desired Skills & Experience
• Engineering,Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar degree
• Expert technical background in IT concepts, particularly storage, backup, and server virtualization
• At least 6 - 8 years experience in a technical marketing or pre-sales role involving hardware and software
• Proven track record of winning and creating IT solutions and integrating hardware and software technologies
• Excellent presentation skills, both live in person and remotely over the web
• Very strong writing skills and content creation experience
• Ability to assess problems and determine effective course of action
• Ability to communicate clearly to a variety of audiences (business / technical, executive / engineering)
• Flexible work hours for scheduled communication with international audiences
• Must reside in the greater Silicon Valley area and work primarily from the Drobo corporate office
