We Are Seeking:

Cost Accounting Manager

The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for the company's cost accounting procedures and initiatives. She/he will work closely with Proteus Operations Management team in standard cost setting, cost variances, cost analysis, audit controls, and inventory reporting.

Specific responsibilities shall include:
• Analyze and understand manufacturing processes corresponding to our ingestible event markers and wearable sensors
• Creation of standard costs for all new products including material costs, labor costs, and overhead absorption
• Preparation of a monthly/quarterly inventory report and the analysis of the excess and obsolescence and warranty reserves, including review and sign-off with senior management
• Coordination of all aspects of cost accounting portion of month end closing journal entries and reconciliation of related balance sheet accounts
• Ensure the accounts are in compliance with GAAP as well as SOX requirements
• Perform analysis to understand reasons for manufacturing and purchase variances
• Audit oversight on quarterly / annually cycle counts of inventory to ensure that internal controls are functioning as designed
• Participate in cost improvement initiatives with Operations, analyzing various alternatives and implementing new systems, as appropriate
• Perform ad hoc projects as assigned


Are You a Fit?
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated ability to improve controls and influence decisions through accounting knowledge and data driven financial analysis. Cost Accounting, General Accounting, and Finance knowledge are all required. Strong Cost and inventory experience within a medical device environment are desirable. Must be able to manipulate data and provide reports to support business decisions, and present findings clearly through highly proficient use of ERP and / or MS Office tools. Must be willing and able to work in a fast paced environment, perform well under pressure, juggle multiple priorities and meet aggressive deadlines. Must be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization including senior management. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of management.
Education and Experience:
BS Degree in Accounting (or equivalent). A CPA, MBA or CMA is preferred.
At least 7 years cost experience in a manufacturing environment.
Prior Supervisory or Team Leadership Experience
