ACCOUNTANT (Morgan Hill, CA)

Background

Terrapin Systems, located in Morgan Hill, CA, is a dynamic, growing company that designs and implements high performing, secure computer networks. We are looking for an ambitious, high-energy accounting professional that is results-focused, self-motivated and driven to be the best. The ideal candidate will possess strong problem solving skills, work ethic, organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with others.

Responsibilities

Maintain accounts receivable including creating and posting customer invoices, posting customer payments, reconciling open invoices, and developing reports to include accounts receivable aging.

Maintain accounts payable including posting and paying vendors/service providers invoices, accounts payable aging reports, and reconciling vendor line of credit and open purchase orders.

Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements.

Maintain cash forecast.

Manage lines of credit including preparing collateral reports, monitoring ratio and reporting requirements, monitoring line use, and providing financial information.



Create and maintain sales commission and bonus reports.

Maintain the fixed assets, capital lease, and depreciation and amortization schedules.

Analyze and prepare general ledger entries including payroll by maintaining records and files as well as reconciling accounts.

Maintain sales tax schedules, prepare returns, and process payments.

Provide support to senior management when requested.

Compile quarterly and year-end tax information for estimates and returns.

Analyze current accounting procedures and practices, and recommend changes.

Perform monthly and year-end close of books and records and prepare related financial statements and reports.

Qualifications

An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance.

A minimum of 1 - 2 years' experience in Accounting or Finance.

Required experience with Quickbooks.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point).

Experience with Microsoft Outlook.

Experience with SalesForce preferred.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Detailed oriented and excellent time management skills.
