The YMCA of San Francisco seeks to hire an Accounting Manager. Reporting to the Controller the successful candidate's role will include
Managing day-to-day accounting activities, including resource distribution between reliable transaction processing and business analysis.
Being in charge of monthly closing.
Performing general accounting functions inherent in the operations of an accounting department, including the preparation of schedules and other analytical reports as requested.
Ensuring that all accounting records and reconciliations are prepared and maintained in accordance with independent auditor standards.
Serving as functional expert on Association accounting system that is used for financial budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
Serving as functional expert in support of Controller with business partners when designing and improving cross-functional business processes and systems.
Assisting the Controller in managing annual year-end audit.
Assisting the Controller in facilitating change management as needed to help Association meet continuously evolving business challenges and opportunities.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Five or more years related experience in accounting, including at least two years of supervisory experience, and a strong understanding of GAAP. Experience with personal computer software packages including Word, Excel, and Access. Must be able to manage his/her area of responsibility as well as generally identify problems and recommend solutions. Requires accuracy, attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and ability to work within deadlines. CPA preferred. Not for profit experience preferred.
