Manager, Website Development (Webmaster)

POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced Website Development Manager (Webmaster) who will lead the Worldwide Website strategy for this successful San Jose, Calif.-based gas/radiation detection company. The company sells and distributes its life-protection monitors to industries such as: Oil & Gas, First Responders/HazMat, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental and Public Safety and Civil Defense.

As the Website Development Manager (Webmaster), you will design the new layout strategy for 17-global Websites, manage implementation of that strategy, assure quality, develop consistent SEO and SEM programs with Marketing, link to and promote Demand-Generation landing pages and content (in Eloqua), develop an extranet with the Marketing Team (for distributors and sales team), manage an outside Website development firm, the company's CMS system (Drupal), and coordinate global Website launches/localization of content with a translation company.

You will utilize your expert SEO and SEM planning and implementation skills (with the Marketing Team) across multiple regions and product applications. You'll be the go-to leader in developing new ways to present and deliver innovative digital content (videos, eBooks, Webinars, product downloads, etc.), architect the Website flow, and "own" the process to increase lead traffic and provide a compelling online experience.

As you build out the Website content, SEO tags and pages, you'll present your ongoing data, updates, recommendations and feedback to the Marketing Team.

This is NOT a Web creative design position. Hands-on HTML, JavaScript, CMS (Drupal or other), Flash, and video/digital asset development is a must. This is a Fulltime Contractor Position that will lead to a Fulltime Job. Onsite work (in north San Jose, Calif.) is mandatory.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Responsible for the strategic planning and execution of all Website content delivery, architecture planning, hosting, SEO/SEM, and management for 17 global Websites. Responsible for Website planning, online Website product and technology presentation, new customer engagement (via multimedia and Flash presentations), coordination with Eloqua Lead Development team, and management of outside vendors and localization budget. Participate in product launches and messaging delivery strategy, and develop weekly/monthly Website traffic analysis with Marketing Team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive and manage Website development for the external websites (17).
• Collaborate with the global marketing team to revise design and layout and adjust to new viewer and search trends.
• Revise pages and content (via HTML, XML, JavaScript)
• Implement Website changes, updates and process via Drupal content management system (CMS) – and manage outside vendors as needed.
• Develop and create effective design for new Microsites
• Review Website content for relevance and timeliness; update out-of-date information; perform quality checks to eliminate broken links, functionality errors and 404 errors.
• Provide Website support to Marketing, Sales, Support and Product Management team members and assist in reporting and troubleshooting Website problems (with external developers as needed).
• Develop and manage SEO, SEM and PPC programs with Marketing Team.
• Coordinate international Website localization for smooth delivery of content and lead capture worldwide.
• Work with Eloqua Demand Generation Team to create more effective landing pages, Website lead-flow, and customized offers to Website traffic.
• Develop usage and traffic reports.

QUALIFICATIONS
• 5-8+ Years of hands-on relevant Website development and project management and marketing experience.
• 5-8+ years of web marketing and marketing management experience
• Demonstrated ability to develop effective online marketing strategy and implement supporting tactics
• Attention to detail
• BA in Computer Science, Web Development, Multimedia or equivalent combination of experience.
• Experience with the following technologies: HTML, JavaScript, HTML-5, CMS systems (Drupal a plus), Flash required. Additional experience with Eloqua a plus.
• Comprehension and application examples of the changing principles of web design.
• Must have solid understanding of web site design, user interface design principles, usability testing, and site technologies
• Proven ability to drive results and work effectively in a global environment
• Excellent English skills, good organizational skills, flexible, and an eye for detail and consistency.
• Exceptional communication (written and verbal), leadership, listening and influencing skills.
• Must have an analytic and data-oriented mindset and a demonstrated history of using data analysis to build actionable recommendations

Responsibilities:
• Understand the family of company web properties globally and provide strategic insight and direction into how they can be leveraged to meet business/marketing objectives.
• Identify online business and user requirements to help define strategy and tactical execution plans for the web.
• Influence success on landing pages by leveraging online media channels (i.e. company website, social media, display, SEM, etc.).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marcom, design, search, production, project management, social media, and product development.
• Review web analytics to ensure instrumentation is in place to test and track results of web marketing tactics.
• Analyze Website metrics and make recommendations based on findings.
• Effectively communicate project priorities and status to all stakeholders.
• Manage external vendors as needed.
• Lead and participate in customer-based research as applicable.

IMPACT OF THIS POSITION
The Website Manager will partner with key business units to help develop web execution plans that will optimize and enhance the company's web presence, qualified leads and market differentiation.
