Our client, a recognized player in their industry, is looking for a PR Manager to join their team in San Francisco, CA. In this role, you will help develop public relations and communications strategies and tactics for community and cause-related initiatives. You will contribute to developing a positive organizational image to general public, customers, stakeholders, and the community. In addition, you will interfaces with many other areas of the company; collaborate with outside vendors and Marketing Strategy and Creative teams to help extend brand identity to PR and company communications.
You will be responsible for the following:
•Assists with development of PR and communications strategy to gain media attention and build consumer awareness in support of overall marketing and brand development goals
•Works closely with sponsorship team to build more awareness for the company's sponsorships and community and cause-related initiatives
•Establishes and manages relationships with select media and develops compelling proactive pitches related to the company's sponsorships and community and cause-related initiatives
•Assists with execution of PR activities, including writing/approval of press releases, content development, responding to media and consumer inquiries, updating press materials, etc.
•Manages and attends media-related events on behalf of the company
•Analyze and measure results of PR programs and communications initiatives
•Assists with managing external PR resources and outside vendors as needed
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
•Excellent communication skills both oral and written
•Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with both internal and external clients and customers
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and within a collaborative team-oriented environment
•Desire to grow and learn; ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, creative, challenging and fast-paced environment
•Ability to recognize and take advantage of emerging trends and developments in social media
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
•Some travel required
•Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field
•Five to six years public relations experience (in-house and agency experience required) with consumer brands; supervisory/manager experience preferred
•Experience placing compelling stories with consumer reporters, bloggers and influencers
•Successful track record of managing PR campaigns; solid understanding of the latest social media tools
