REFERRALS? Geospatial Leader 2VP Business Intelligence position – Travelers -Hartford, Connecticut
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILIITIES:

This position provides senior leadership to a function/functions within Business Intelligence including:
Business Intelligence Business Analysis:
· Works with business customers to determine how Business Intelligence information and analytic solutions can be leveraged to support business strategies, capabilities, and processes.
Strategy:
Implement strategic solutions which combine Geospatial technology with risk measures to provide advanced technology solutions
· Information Delivery: Explores and profiles data, draws business inferences, completes analysis and clearly articulates findings for a target audience, and/o
· Business Performance
Analytics:
Designs and develops information for strategic, planning, operational and analytical purposes in support of decision making by the business.
· Partners with senior management in developing strategic vision for business unit, sets tone and direction by clearly articulating vision, and translates into realistic goals.
· Consults with senior leadership in the development or business strategies and develops operational plans within Business Intelligence; accountable for driving those strategies through others.
· Ensures the implementation of operational plans within areas of accountability.
· Ensures quality controls and process improvements are on-going process within areas of accountability.
· Partners with peers and leaders across organization in implementing strategic initiatives to ensure alignment with Travelers objectives.
· Leads complex initiatives and projects and/or oversees projects lead by team members. May lead multi-disciplinary or cross-functional work teams.
· Solves complex problems within area of expertise.
· Accountable for the recruitment and development of needed talent for meeting long-term business goals.
· Utilizes strong leadership skills to drive organizational effectiveness and oversee the cost effective implementation of the operating plan.
· Recognizes, initiates and manages change that impacts the work group/department.
· May manage Business Intelligence vendors.
Leader of assigned Business Intelligence function(s).
- Partners with senior leaders in development of strategic plans for assigned function(s).
- Responsibilities focus on Business Intelligence function(s).
- Accountabilities focus on assigned business, with view of broader organization.
- Accountable for driving implementation of operational plans for assigned Business Intelligence function(s).
EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience required.
Typically has a minimum of 10+ years- experience in Descriptive Analytics, Business Analysis and/or Information Delivery or related fields.
5-7 years of management experience.
5+ years of project management leadership experience.
Thorough knowledge of Business Intelligence functions (multiple or concentrated knowledge of particular function).
Thorough knowledge of Business Intelligence systems applications/ programming languages needed for assigned functional focus.
Experience with geo-spatial/geospatial and third party data sources
Experience with advanced visualization
Experience working on broad/business-wide projects or initiatives.
Experience working across functional areas within organizations.
Thorough Knowledge:
Possesses advanced knowledge of subject matter in order to solve unusual as well as common work problems and advise on technical matters and to serve as a resource to organization.
