Salary: Starting salary is $44,635 - $52,832 depending on education and experience with increases to $65,713 based on professional development units as it relates to the current Lower Columbia College Faculty Agreement.

Description of Position
This position is responsible for producing and directing quarterly plays, teaching drama courses, and maintaining drama curriculum.
Duties Responsibilities
The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
• Administer drama performance program
• Advise student drama organization
• Produce/direct quarterly plays
• Community outreach in drama
• Participate in profession college organizations such as Association of Theatre in Higher Education
• Recruit students into the theatre program
• Teach theatre classes to a diverse student population with various learning styles and abilities
• Incorporate instructional technologies in course delivery, both face-to-face and online
• Provide individualized support to promote student success
• Assess, evaluate and document student learning and achievement of course outcomes
• Maintain currency of course content and materials, including course syllabus
• Actively foster effective learning communities
• Effectively interact with supervisors, colleagues, and community members
• Provide academic advising to students
• Perform ongoing student, program and college assessment activities
• Execute accreditation responsibilities and activities
• Participate in department and college activities and meetings
• Complete professional development activities
• Establish and maintain office hours and be available for student consultation
• Maintain appropriate student records and submit them in a timely manner
• Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
• Master's degree in Drama or Theatre or Fine Arts in Directing AND five years professional theatre or 3 years theatre administration experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Drama or Theatre AND eight years professional theatre experience or five years theatre administration
Preferred Qualifications
• Three years college-level teaching experience
• Experience in technical theatre or stage management
• Association of Theatre in Higher Education
Candidates called to an interview will be expected to conduct a classroom presentation on a discipline related topic. When scheduling the interview, candidates will be provided further details on the presentation requirements. Candidates called for interview may be reimbursed up to $200 to help defray travel costs.
