Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is looking for a full time/permanent Senior Director, Corporate Event Marketing for our technology client in Santa Clara. The Senior Director is responsible for defining and leading the overarching corporate event strategy, attendee experience and operational execution for strategic events. In this role, you will be responsible for determining an integrated program and marketing approach for our clients' annual user conference (9,000 expected attendees), Sales Kick Off (1,400 attendees), and Sales Incentive Events. You will also play a key role working with their regional marketing leadership to develop a global framework for their Seminar Series.
Working across multiple levels of the organization you will directly manage the Corporate Event Marketing team to deliver against corporate event program goals, event marketing, and drive all supporting deliverables and program needs.
The ideal candidate brings strong, modern strategic events strategy and integrated marketing experience. Your integrated Marketing experience must go beyond event operations and include marketing communications, campaign development, event marketing and attendee experience.

Responsibilities:
Event Strategy
Determine 3-5 year strategy and attendee/sponsorship growth model
Identify overarching event agenda, programs and experiences required to support strategy and overall attendee goals/experience
Build the plan for 3-5 year future needs, financial model and locations to allow for growth but limit revenue impact
Continue the evolution of personas, supporting attendee journeys and experience needs to ensure high satisfaction scores and value for events, while supporting the needs of the company in terms of new markets and segments
Define the overall event virtual, content release and 365 engagement strategy and experience beyond the time period of the physical events
Define and lead a global sponsorship framework that supports all strategic and regional level events to present value to key partners
Lead event follow through to ensure we are monitoring ROI/value of all strategic event investments
Event Marketing and Promotions
Provide leadership and insights into how to drive customer/prospect attendance and partner sponsorship growth through modern communications and promotions
Guide the internal and external event awareness and communication plan and associated deliverables
Leading a cross-functional team, determine the content capture and asset plan for future event marketing and promotions needs
Event Experience
Drive the overall attendee experience throughout the event ensuring key messages and engagement supports overall goals
Drive the overall branding of the event, from theme development and tiered execution to the Partner Pavilion strategy and experience
Ensure the approach taken for strategic events is leveraged globally for regional events, tradeshows and programs to drive a consistent
Own the event booth property strategy, demo approach, branding and refresh schedule to ensure regional teams are executing on current portfolio, messaging and brand
Event Operations
Develop best practices for the Event Operational framework to ensure consistency in our approach and exceptional operational execution
Act as the leader determining event vendor selection and event technology business requirements/required experience for execution by key agencies and our internal marketing operations team
Ensure strategic event operational approach is modern, best in breed and seen as a leader in terms of registration, digital, content and learning opportunities
Build out an event operational model that scales to support growing event portfolio and needs, including self-service model for smaller, turnkey events
Provide leadership across all areas to both internal event team and external agencies
Skills:
10+ years combined corporate event/integrated marketing/marketing communications experience. Must have prior/recent experience in this capacity, working for at least one mid-large technology company.
Must have experience with marcom campaign development and driving marketing communications for events
Must have experience managing an internal team as well as 3rd party vendors
An ability to roll your sleeves up and build out the programs while also bringing strategic insights and framework to the event portfolio
Proven track record of building both an industry respected event and also the marketing and operational team that executed under your leadership
Exceptional communication and people/program management skills
A team player who collaborates as standard practice, and operates successfully leading both their own team and virtual working teams
Multi-million dollar event financial management, reporting and analysis an absolute requirement
High energy, "can do" personality and ability to thrive in a growth environment
SALARY: Full time/permanent/salaried employee of client. Competitive total compensation package D.O.E., w2, including annual bonus, stock options and comprehensive benefits
LOCATION: This position is fully onsite at clients' office in Santa Clara, CA, plus some flexibility for domestic/international travel. No phone calls.
