Please direct your responses to: lkennedy@equinix.com

Key Qualifications

You have robust experience with writing and editing for B2B audiences

You have experience with developing and shaping voice and tone for a global enterprise.

You enjoy working collaboratively with clients (product managers, programs team, brand team, executives) and creative services resources (internal or external).

You're noted for your resourceful approach to work and your strong problem-solving skills.

You don't take things too personally, and possess a well-developed sense of humor.

You multitask and work with grace under pressure, and you're comfortable wearing many hats (editor, content strategist, writer).

As an editor…

Your work product will be well-written and free of grammar or spelling errors. It will look and feel like employer's piece, meaning that it's consistent with our voice, and reflects brand and style guidelines.

1. Review and QA written content (marketing and sales collateral, emails, website, digital ads, newsletters and more).

2. Champion smooth, effortless, on-strategy communication: You'll fix content (sometimes by editing, sometimes by rewriting altogether) so that it flows smoothly and makes sense. If you've held jobs where you've had to translate technical jargon into plain English, this will be in your wheelhouse.

3. Sometimes less really is more: you know how to judiciously edit and tighten to enhance a piece.

4. Create style sheets to help everyone (especially external vendors and internal resources) apply brand and style guidelines consistently.

5. Maintain trademark list and apply trademark guidelines.

As a content strategist…

When you're doing this part of your job correctly, messaging resonates with your intended audience, and marketing becomes more effective as a result.

1. Identify language that works well and leverage elsewhere to enhance brand voice and consistency.

2. Identify best practices for creating content, by audience and by asset type (for example, emails, case studies or info papers).

3. Update or revise content created by any acquisition or subsidiary so that it is consistent with Equinix standards.

As a writer…

You don't do a lot of writing in this role, but anything you write will be worth reading.

1. Compose targeted emails.

2. Compose call scripts for outbound calling programs.

3. Write shorter pieces (1-2 pages, including customer success stories).

4. Develop messaging for various social media platforms, usually as part of a campaign supporting a specific partner, promotion or event.

Handy Skills to Have

1. You excel at multi-tasking

2. You're detail-oriented.

3. You apply a consistent approach to organization (so that someone else can easily locate a recent piece of work or a project in process if necessary).

4. You work with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat and InCopy) apps on a regular basis.

5. You can capably apply best practices with the larger social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn).
