Crawford Group (www.crawfordgroup.com) is seeking a Public Relations Manager for a full time/permanent role on our clients' growing Corporate Communications and Brand team. The PR Manager will focus on telling our clients' product and innovation stories. The role will work closely with a PR team, social media manager and report to the Vice President of Brand and Communications.
The ideal candidate has the required public relations experience in the technology industry, with the ability to come up to speed quickly on our clients' technology and solutions offerings. Must have the ability to capably translate that knowledge into the most compelling content, developing it into the most interesting news angle, by audience. Experience working with high growth, B2B companies required. Must provide samples of your relevant work for consideration.
Responsibilities:
Develop and help foster editorial relationships with members of trade publications and business press communities
Collaborate to set corporate PR strategies and programs
Work closely with diverse internal stakeholders and external PR agencies in a variety of ways in order to promote a positive company brand image and to secure coverage in the press
Write and deliver press releases, announcements, editorial opportunities, contributed articles, features, success stories, blog posts and ad copy
Respond to media inquiries and editorial opportunities by gathering information, helping develop written and verbal responses, and coordinating delivery to the press
Manage PR-related activities for tradeshows and other events where media are present; includes managing briefing schedules and helping staff press meetings; may include community relations activities
Review and edit documents for grammar, flow, content and consistency of message
Skills:
5-7 years' B2B Public Relations experience, corporate/in house or agency-side.
Strong project management skills and ability to lead cross-functional projects related to product launches, paid content, event marketing and thought leadership
Ability to work cross-functionally with other groups, including but not limited to, product marketing, product management, engineering, content marketing, customer marketing, demand gen, AR, social media and events
Demonstrate writing excellence when crafting press releases, product messaging, proactive pitches, blog posts and advertising copy
Strong media relations/storytelling skills – proven track record of generating coverage for products and data-driven stories in business, trade and technology publications
Must have experience executing PR program tactics and working with the press in reactive and proactive situations
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
Ability to think both strategically/creatively but also plan/organize to effectively execute integrated campaigns at the most tactical level
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of management
Flexible, self-starter, with the ability to thrive in highly dynamic environment
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
BA/BS in Business, Public Relations, Marketing, or equivalent; MBA a plus
Preferred Skills:
Experience working with Fortune 500 companies/clients and/or B2C companies
Experience working with ad tech/marketing clients and existing relationships with advertising or marketing trade publications as well as top-tier business outlets
Salary: Full time/permanent/salaried employee of client. Competitive total compensation package D.O.E., w2, including annual bonus, stock options and comprehensive benefits
Location: This position is fully onsite at clients' office in San Mateo, CA; optional location of Manhattan, NY for the right candidate. No phone calls, please.
