About the job:

Working as an integral member of the Rocket Application, Development, Integration and Modernization (ADI/M) team, the Product Marketing Manager is the marketing champion of Rocket's Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions. In this strategic role, the PMM will be responsible for driving the global go-to-market strategy for Rocket's ALM solutions. The PMM must have the ability to effectively and credibly communicate with highly skilled software engineers, sales professionals and business end users. The PMM must then translate those communications into product messaging, positioning and development strategies. The PMM will be responsible for building and maintaining the marketing programs that will generate a robust pipeline of leads to ensure consistent sales growth.

This team member reports directly to the Chief Marketing Officer and VP of Sales, and works exclusively with the ALM sales and technical teams within the ADI/M business unit

Responsibilities:

• Establish Worldwide Go-to-Market plan for ALM
• Design and oversee strategies for customer acquisition as well as customer retention
• Build and maintain robust lead pipeline
• Facilitate communication flow between R&D, Field Sales, Support, Services and End User Customers
• Define product positioning, ideal customer / target profiles, user / buyer persons, and key value messaging – the key creator and owner of market facing content for ALM solutions
• Work with Chief Marketing Officer to ensure messaging and GTM delivery are consistent with overall Rocket Software corporate goals
• Aid in developing cross-Rocket Software marketing initiatives and contribute to high level marketing communications
• Develop market segmentation for ALM sector, including Release & Deployment management, IT Workflow automation and Change management, including investigation and recommendation of vertical market focus where applicable
• Conduct focus groups, usability, or other market validation research with Product Management / Development
• Create product collateral, customer case studies, white papers, Web content, and sales tools to promote Rocket's ALM solutions
• Support all stages of the sales cycle and help to script and design standard product presentations as necessary – working collaboratively with R&D Product Manager and Presales Engineers
• Build and develop value statements & use cases
• Maintain product launch plans
• Deliver thought-leading content via events, blogs, ebooks, and other outlets
• Identify best opportunities for lead generation and measure effectiveness of product marketing programs
• Identify product references for industry and customer referrals
• Identify competitive threats and emerging opportunities
• Create partner channel materials and content
• Participate in website design process (microsites/marketing web applications)



 
Requirements:
• 5-10 years of Product Marketing experience in Application Lifecycle and Change Management market sectors, or related enterprise software experience preferred
• Ability to develop and drive a complete WW go-to-market plans with a focus on first-class execution
• Good working knowledge of ALM software and how customers use these solutions to manage their applications in both corporate and public sector environments
• Collaborative, self-directed and self-motivated
• Excellent understanding of customer relationship marketing tools such as Salesforce.com
• Strong familiarity with marketing automation systems (Eloqua, Marketo, etc.)
• Strong writing skills with the ability to take technical information and translate into everyday laymen's copy for marketing campaigns and collateral
• Exceptional ability to work in a deadline-oriented environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Solid project management and organization skills
• Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills to deal professionally with all types of people—a team player with a client-centric attitude
• Outstanding attention to detail and quality conscious
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator / Photoshop / InDesign / Flash, a plus
