We are looking for a Frontâ€End Software Engineer with a balance oftechnical and creative skills to join our
engineering team. Someone withstrong fundamental CS knowledge (data structures, algorithms) and a
truepassion for user interface development – but most importantly, we need someonewith a
demonstrated ability to understand both the possibilities andconstraints of web applications and large
data problems. The successfulcandidate will have a thorough understanding of front end design patterns
andtechniques, and have developed and delivered well structured browserâ€basedapplications using HTML,
CSS and JavaScript.
Responsibilities:
-Createbrilliant front end components for MarkLogic products.
-Work closely withUX, engineering, product management, and marketing teams to translateaesthetic
vision into successful interactive browserâ€based applications.
-Work as part of a team and participate in engineering life cycle of the fullproduct.
Qualifications:
-Demonstrated hands on experience developing commercial or open sourceproducts within a well
defined software development life cycle in a teamenvironment
-Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering,or an equivalent field, or equivalent
work experience with 5+ yearsexperience and a track record of delivering browserâ€based applications
-Understanding of endâ€toâ€end web architecture, including REST, URI's and commondata formats and a
strong understanding of current design patterns and bestpractices
-Expertise designing and developing browserâ€based applicationsusing JavaScript and JavaScript libraries
(like jQuery or Dojo or YUI) andAjax
-Good working knowledge of XML, HTML,CSS, HTTP, REST, JSON
-Excelat communicating and collaborating with internal and external communities
-Athorough understanding of how to structure and unit test their code, andexperience collaborating on
a team and participating in code reviews
Niceto have:
-Experience with jQuery
-Experience with automated testing ofbrowser apps (e.g., Selenium)
-Experience with JavaScript charting andvisualization libraries
