Title: Category/Procurement Manager
Duration: 6 mos+ (renewable per quarter)
Location: San Jose, CA
- The successful candidate will provide leadership in creating, maintaining and managing the interaction between company and key suppliers of IT goods and services.
Job responsibilities include:
- Manage the day to day relationship with external Suppliers
- Develop and execute governance models to manage relationships of strategic suppliers that drive innovation, value and competitive advantage
- Support development of category strategy and annual plan
- Conduct market research and benchmarking for category
- Responsible for delivering year-over-year cost reduction for specified categories
- Ensure high spend compliance through preferred suppliers for specified categories
- Individual or staff will manage multiple projects annually including the completion of sourcing events, consumption reduction activities, rate and supplier rationalization events
- Manage key strategic Projects spanning Global reach
Core competencies include:

- Commercial Contract Negotiations
- Financial analysis
- Industry analysis
- Relationship Management
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communications skills
Required education/experience:
-8+ years prior work in sourcing, category management or supplier development/management
- Understanding of the IT industry, i.e. telecom, hardware, software and services
- Documented results of year-over-year cost savings
- Global experience a plus
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
