We have an immediate opening for a Sales Development Representative in our San Mateo, CA headquarters to be on the front line of spreading the word about our game-changing enterprise solution. As a member of our expanding Sales Development Team you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities both through your own outbound calling and qualifying responses to sales and marketing campaigns. This is an important role that builds qualified sales pipeline for the field sales team by mapping FirstRain's value proposition to a company's own business goals and priorities in a clear and compelling way—often to senior executives at our target customers. Success in this role will lead to further career opportunities with the sales development team, or in other areas of the sales organization.
Responsibilities:

• Prospect, educate, qualify and develop accounts and inbound leads to create sales-ready leads and opportunities.
• Learn, leverage and help evolve a demand generation process—researching contacts, sending emails, cold calling and making discovery calls.
• Conduct high-level conversations with executives at prospect companies. Identify customer challenges and needs, and communicate potential FirstRain solutions to address these challenges.
• Conduct business dealings in a way that creates a positive prospect experience that will set the stage for effective sales follow-up, as well as future solution sales.
• Consistently achieve qualified opportunity quotas to ensure territory revenue objectives.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Minimum 1-year applicable work experience, B.A./B.S. required.
• A self-starter with a track record of success, achieving qualified lead follow-up and sales development at executive levels within target accounts.
• Solid experience in pre-call planning; time and territory management.
• Positive, effective phone skills: including excellent listening, presentation, objection-handling and strong writing skills.
• Attention to detail; accurate entry and management of lead data in salesforce.com
• Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Must excel in a high-energy, high-growth sales team environment; highly motivated, tenacious, resourceful and a self-starter.
• The highest level of integrity; team player.
• Recent grads possessing high energy and relevant skills are encouraged to apply.
