Part-time Marketing and Operations Coordinator for a cross-cultural training and consulting firm

The entrepreneurial head of Japan Intercultural Consulting, a rapidly growing specialized global consulting and training company, seeks a Marketing and Operations Coordinator. Position will work closely with our firm's Managing Principal, Rochelle Kopp, to learn business operations, create and/or maintain processes and systems to handle an increasing workload, and effectively complete work.

Approximately 50% of the position will be involved in marketing tasks, including drafting promotional materials, client correspondence, project proposals, and website copy. Requires understanding the company's work at a deep level and the ability to write about it in a clear and polished way. Creativity and flair plus an eye for design important. Upcoming marketing-related projects include refreshing our website, setup and management of a new podcast series, production and marketing of an e-book, and planning and promotion of our annual Telesummit.

The other 50% of the position will involve hands-on involvement in managing the processes around delivery of our work, including coordinating details for scheduling, planning, and invoicing for the training seminars we conduct for our clients. Tasks will also involve supporting the head of the firm with email triage, calendar management, and general office support. Particularly important are the ability to find ways to improve efficiency and help lighten the load of the head of the firm.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and experience in similar situations helping an executive with a growing firm manage workflow and be more productive. Must be flexible, cheerful, and level-headed. Prior experience in a professional services firm, particularly training or consulting, is preferred.

Must be detail-oriented, have excellent communication and client-handling skills, and be able to manage multiple activities with tight deadlines. Initiative to pitch in and help with whatever is needed to get the job done is crucial. Requires outstanding interpersonal skills for client contact, and the ability to coordinate seamlessly with our team of consultants and facilitators and our existing virtual administrative staff and bookkeeper.

Requirements:
� At least 3-5 years� experience in a similar role
� Able to drive critical project processes including scheduling and team coordination.
� Able to think quickly on your feet and re-prioritize on the fly to deal with emerging issues.
� Self-motivated, resourceful, and adept at problem solving.
� Can identify priorities, ask the right questions and anticipate problems before they arise.
� Proficient in MS Office (especially PowerPoint), knowledgeable about and comfortable with current online tools including social media.
� Truly excellent writing skills.
� Experience with WordPress a plus.
� Interest in the field of cross-cultural communications and/or Japan a plus, some Japanese language ability an extra plus.

When onsite you will be working in a home office in Emerald Hills (west side of Redwood City, near 280).

Time Commitment: 20 hours per week, with potential to do some of those virtually.
