Description
The Supply Chain, Logistics Inventory Manager is responsible for directing the flow of goods into, through, and out of the company's off-site fulfillment vendor warehouse, managing the processes and personnel involved in customer order processing, handling inventory ordering/reordering and reprinting, and ensuring that the company has optimal levels of stock available at all times to fulfill customer orders by planning and executing well-timed and thoughtful inventory sourcing and management strategies.

Specific duties include:
Inventory Logistics
� Determine appropriate inventory levels, safety stock levels, and reorder points to mitigate the risk of stock outs.
� Identify and implement appropriate strategies to optimize inventory levels for cost containment and supply risk mitigation.
� Review manufacturing schedules with the Product Department to establish appropriate stock due dates to meet demand.
� Coordinate book correction schedules with Product Department and outside vendors(s).
� Manage vendor relationships including soliciting quotes, qualifying new vendors, negotiating prices and terms, and finding alternate suppliers when needed.
� Ensure goods receipts and goods returns are recorded accurately and timely in the inventory management systems.
� Establish, track, and report on key performance indicators to measure supply chain and inventory management effectiveness and efficiency: inventory accuracy, order fulfillment, aged inventory, overage/shortage, damage, and wrong product.
� Document the supply chain processes and procedures such that they are replicable and facilitate future automation.
� Liaison with and oversee operations of our inventory fulfillment company to assure our customers are receiving the correct order, packaged in a careful manner, and with the best postage options, both domestic and international shipments
� Oversee inventory ordering, fulfillment related to company-hosted conferences
� Maintain POS systems at our conference product sales tables.

Order Processing
� Monitor daily customer product and conference orders from various sales sources: phone, web, POs, and distributors
� Assure customer orders are handled efficiently and accurately; work with Customer Service to problem solve challenges related to order fulfillment and/or shipping; create new processes as needed
� Effectively manage order processing department staff
� Establish performance measures for the order processing team, including metrics for efficiency and productivity during high/low order activity periods

Inventory Analysis
� Create meaningful models and processes to manage and track ongoing product demands with key constituents in Marketing, Product Development, and Finance
� Establish quality standards and measurements for inventory control, including financial and statistical reports and dashboards
� Evaluate business needs and identify areas of cost optimization while meeting business KPIs related to inventory management, shipping, and customer service/satisfaction
� Analyze inventory depletion trends and adjust processes as needed to maintain efficiency and cost optimization
� Present clear and concise periodic inventory reports and research results and recommendations to company stakeholders.

Other
� Manage the fleet (van R&M, insurance, licensing)
� Compile inventory valuation reports for insurance coverage

Job Requirements
� Proven track record in supply chain vendor management. Knowledge of best practices in inventory management, order processing, domestic and international shipping and receiving of inventory, transportation modes and carrier operations, and customer order fulfillment. Experience in efficient methods of packing/shipping multiple small products in the same order a plus.
� Management experience required (min. 6-10 people). Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a strong, cohesive, well-informed team and motivate staff to perform efficiently and with high levels of accuracy.
� Strong organizational skills a must! This is not a traditional supply chain management position; it involves rolling up your sleeves, getting into the thick of operations and working closely in a team-oriented environment with knowledge workers to organize and problem solve complex inventory management challenges.
� Excellent written and oral communication skills to communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of staff from warehouse workers to top company executives, and with third party vendors.
� Proactive management and performance style. Ability to anticipate tasks, issues, and potential problems and generate viable solutions in a non-emergency but appropriately urgent manner.
� Superior time-management skills. Able to balance multiple priorities, manage shifting timelines and workloads, and manage own and others� time smoothly and efficiently.
� Able to work cross-functionally with other departments within the company: Customer Service, Order Processing, Marketing, Product Development, Business Operations, and Finance.
� Experience with financial systems such as SAP Business 1 highly preferred.
� Fluent use of Microsoft Excel, Windows based systems, and/or other analysis programs to create reports that support shipping, inventory, and customer service functions.
