Here´s your chance to manage website strategy and lead the development of robust web analytics for FindLaw.com, the world´s most-visited legal information site (www.findlaw.com). We have more than four million legal consumers visiting each month and the largest legal directory available of attorneys for hire. We also provide the most comprehensive set of legal resources on the Internet for legal professionals, corporate counsel, law students, businesses and consumers.

FindLaw is the leading provider of online marketing solutions for the legal community, and the leading provider of legal information for businesses and individuals. FindLaw offers comprehensive solutions that enable small law firms to increase their visibility, traffic, and contacts from prospective clients on the Web. The FindLaw Web portal (www.findlaw.com) is the world´s most visited legal Web site, offering comprehensive information, resources and services for law practice and legal career development, including free case law, an online career center, breaking legal news, newsletters, message boards, service directories, continuing legal education and legal search tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply your expertise in website strategy and web analytics and your self-starting initiative to help drive the long-term growth of FindLaw.com
- Website Strategy
- Generate, define, and collaborate on new website ideas and enhancements through market research, web trends, and website analysis
- Strategy - work with team to define annual website goals broken down into quarterly and monthly goals and deliverables
- Define and execute AB and multivariate tests for FindLaw.com to continually optimize the web property
- Identify strategic partnerships and business opportunities that compliment FindLaw´s web properties and help drive quality traffic, bring in new audiences, or achieve other KPIs
- Work with colleagues in SEM, SEO, social, online ads, community, content syndication to achieve mutually beneficial objectives
- Collaborate with team members across the company to understand and document business requirements, key goals and project objectives and translate them into clear, concise technical specifications, use cases, for internal projects and customer-facing product offerings
- Web Analytics
- Leadership - lead team of 1-2 team members
- Strategy - responsible for crafting, implementing and communicating web analytics strategy
- Data reporting - work with your team members to ensure each program has actionable daily, weekly, monthly or annual metrics that provide insights and help them achieve their relevant business goals. Work individually or in teams on PowerPoint decks, online dashboards, data reports/points, etc.
- Communications - evangelize importance, use, and relevance of a robust Analytics program that can help us maintain our industry leadership position
- Team work - engage with team members by gathering necessary data and information from them, keeping them informed on team progress, and fielding their questions
- Instrument website with analytics code to ensure 100% coverage
- Define and implement data governance policies
- Ensure consistent, clean, actionable data

- Bachelor´s degree: preference given to Business / Commerce, Marketing, M.I.S., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or Natural Sciences degrees
- 7-10 years experience in website strategy and/or data analysis; large consumer enterprise website with legacy and modern components experience preferred
- 7+ years of general business experience
- Strong preference for work experience at a large online website (Google, eBay, Yahoo, WebMD, Intuit) and solid understanding of Internet trends and audience development
- Background in web analytics is a must, but also desire experience in statistics, modeling, programming, or other relevant skills. Prior experience utilizing Business Intelligence applications is also needed (such as Omniture, OBIEE, Cognos, MS Reporting Services, Business Objects, Crystal, etc.)
- Advanced Excel/Access skills (able to create pivot tables, advanced filtering & sorting, Access databases/queries) is preferred
- Demonstrated success working in a team environment
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate multiple initiatives and activities in a changing environment
- Proven ability with English spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax and composition rules and a clear business/technical writing style. Writing samples will be requested
- Assumes the role of system/functional expert responsible for guiding, and assisting with, the development of direct reports
- Strong understanding of Content Management systems and application of these systems to solve business publishing and marketing communication needs
- Understanding of JSP, JavaScript, HTML (various versions), multimedia technologies, and other related technologies, as well as understanding of databases, servers and basic Internet concepts
- Some experience with interface design, site architecture design, and usability requirements preferred
- Ability to develop organizational, team and employee competencies that result in a highly innovative and knowledgeable staff
- Willingness to travel periodically as necessary, likely 10% of the time
