The Sage Group is seeking a Director of SEM to work for the largest online retailer of posters, print, and framed art, located in the East Bay. This is a critical role that will contribute directly to overall revenue and the customer experience and they are looking for someone to own all aspects of strategy and performance of the channel as well as manage a small team.
Responsibilities include:
- Own partner management and relationships with platforms (Google/MSN/Yahoo).
- Understand and proactively address industry trends, product changes, algorithms, or market influences.
- Own SEM program: achieve specific channel performance targets, drive traffic and conversion.
- Define and execute an SEM roadmap that aligns team goals to business objectives and improves keyword generation, bid optimization, landing page resolution and testing, ad text testing, campaign management, and reporting tools.
- Lead, manage, and mentor a talented team of channel experts, analysts, and campaign managers.
- Provide weekly analysis and reporting of performance metrics to senior management.
- Improve overall customer experience and related KPIs.
- Plan, design, and implement A/B and multivariate tests against customer segments, product categories, and various platforms/devices to provide an optimal guest experience with superior ROI.
- Collaborate with web optimization, merchandising, and CRM teams to define site instrumentation, media attribution models, lifetime value models, and media mix analysis and optimization.
Skills Required:
- 5+ years in SEM for a leading consumer facing e-commerce or technology company
- Significant experience with in-house (proprietary) SEM system
- Prior experience managing and mentoring a team
- Deep knowledge of SEM, data analytics, and test design including prior experience with PPC in Google, MSN, and Yahoo platforms
- Great influence, partnering, and collaboration skills
- Excellent communication skills with a strong executive presence
