Human Resources Generalist - Finance position at International Paper - Memphis, Tennessee
This position is located in Memphis, TN and provides HR support to the
Corporate Finance function. The HR Generalist reports to the Business
HR Manager – Corporate Finance. This includes all HR generalist
activities such as leadership development, change leadership, employee
engagement, talent management, and succession planning. This position
is an exciting opportunity for someone who desires to be a change leader
impacting the results for the function which they support. The
successful candidate should be prepared for HR leadership positions.
Description:
• Business Partner: Act with management in instituting improvements
which positively impact business profitability and raise employee
engagement.
• Leadership Development, Engagement and Diversity: educate, coach
and counsel members of the organization on job performance, employee
development and diversity to build work teams who fully contribute to
meeting or exceeding goals.
• Partner with management to recruit and retain talent and conduct
workforce and succession planning. Coordinate and participate in
college recruiting.
• Educate and coach management on company policy work rules, as
well as applicable federal and state regulations to ensure fair and
consistent delivery of human resources products and services and
compliance with local labor agreements.
• Promote and participate in the planning and implementation of
communication strategies which deliver accurate, consistent and timely
information on business issues and employee concerns. Prepare and
deliver training as needed to the organization.
• Research and introduce human resources best practice concepts to
ensure that the organization is utilizing leading edge human resources
technology and proactively considering new strategies.
• Champion the change management process consistent with The IP
Way.
• Special projects including year-end CSA rollups, Merit Reward
Planning, Incentive Rewards Planning, etc.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5-7 years of multi-faceted human resources generalist
experience preferred. Pay will be commensurate with experience.
• Willing and able to work flexible hours and travel as needed.
• Project management skills, must have strong computer/analytical
skills.
• Functional/Technical skills to include employee relations,
engagement/diversity, change management, recruiting/staffing, training
and performance management.
