Our client is one the world's leading grower and marketer of peaches, plums, nectarines, and table grapes. We have a reputation for being innovative and having well-managed operations. We need a Director of Corporate Communications to develop and execute internal communications strategies and provide day-to-day support for functional internal communications needs.

Significant growth opportunities. Within three years we plan for this position to encompass our marketing communications as well.

EXPECTATIONS

Oversee internal communications for key corporate initiatives by developing, implementing, and maintaining an employee communications strategy and program.

Prioritize messaging based on business needs for integration into overall internal communications calendar.

Provide day-to-day communications support to functional groups throughout the company, including HR.

Counsel other company managers on the best approach for the delivery of information to employees.

Identify, leverage, and integrate technology that will increase the effectiveness and timeliness of internal communications.

Stay abreast of communications industry trends to determine new methods for improving internal communications.

Develop and coordinate visual identity policies and procedures related to publications management, particularly branding, graphics standards, and application of company logos.

Develop talking points, internal FAQs, leadership presentations, and other business-related announcements.

Develop communication standards, guidelines, templates, and tools.

Lead social media efforts as effective tools to enhance internal communications.

Oversee the development of all printed materials.

Provide editorial direction as well as oversee design, production, and distribution of all internal publications.



HANDS-ON
RESPONSIBILITIES

Write, edit, and proofread employee communications before dissemination to ensure accuracy, clarity, appropriateness, and consistency with our corporate tone and voice.

Make sure that writing is accurate, clear, and complete, and that spelling, grammar, and punctuation are perfect.

Edit, proofread, fact-check, and coordinate production of corporate communications.

Coordinate the appearance of all The company's internal print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.

Ensure that layout, design and production of websites and other publications are done in a consistent and quality format, and are always up-to-date and easily accessible.

Oversee print production through vendors of varying capabilities to ensure that all projects are completed within desired timeframes and budgets, achieving cost savings while maintaining standards of excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or similar field required. Master's degree is preferred.

Minimum of five years of experience in communications in a marketing and corporate communications setting with at least three years of experience in employee communications is desired.

Proven ability to develop communication strategies with a diverse team.

Extensive experience planning, writing, editing, and production of communications materials.

SKILLS

Exceptional computer skills. (This is not a job for someone who is more comfortable with paper and pen.
The Director of Corporate Communications is an energetic multi-tasking
professional who is comfortable with intense use of email, texting, and applications such as Office, Evernote,
Box, QuickBase, social media, etc.)

Excellent project management skills with a focus on meeting aggressive deadlines.

Knowledge of the latest advances in effective use of digital and social media for effective corporate communication,
including online communities, search engine optimization, and other digital marketing tools.

Familiarity with tools for measuring the effectiveness of communications programs including surveys and
focus groups.

Research expertise using Internet search engines such as Google and desktop search tools such as X1.

Professional maturity with ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
