A high-performance marketing team is critical in a dynamic market where market norms shift and companies need to balance a steady voice and brand with the need to rapidly adapt to market changes. As a Senior Marketing Manager at Nexage based in San Francisco, you have experience with and understand the rapidly evolving ecosystem of mobile advertising. As importantly, you are plugged into the San Francisco mobile advertising market, especially the applications and game developer community. You know how to tap into and interpret market dynamics, balance how to respond to in-market dynamics and stay true to our brand, and plan and execute in-market initiatives (campaigns, events, etc). You are able to work closely with Sales so that marketing efforts are directly linked to sales priorities and performance.
ORGANIZATION
The position reports to the CMO and is central to driving up awareness and performance in the West Coast market. You will work closely with West Coast teams, including Publisher and Demand Sales, Publisher and Demand Services, Product, and Business Development. This position is based in San Francisco.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing organizes operations into four inter-related areas: Strategy & Analytics, Market Engagement, Channel Marketing, and Marketing Operations. You will lead or participate in all of these areas, with special focus on the West Coast market.
Lead: West Coast market analysis focused on provide specific intelligence to help us extend awareness on the West Coast and as insight to help all of Nexage learn and execute to drive market performance
Lead: Planning and executing West Coast marketing initiatives, including but not limited to in external events, meet-ups, Nexage Forums, and social events
Participate: in West Coast channel marketing activities, working with the Channel Marketing lead, West Coast sales and publisher/demand services teams
Participate: in our strategy and analytics capability by providing information and insights from the West Coast market, and then synthesizing those inputs to refine/extend our current go to market strategy
Participate: in broader (outside the West Coast market) market engagement activities
Participate: in PR activities for all markets, including reporters that focus on the West Coast and app/gaming markets
Participate: in marketing operations efforts including enhancements to our creative and web efforts and other ops and infrastructure efforts to drive efficiency and effectiveness
Develop world-class market assets including core assets (e.g., corporate deck), media-facing assets (e.g., by-lines, press releases), and event-based assets (e.g., sales efforts)
QUALIFICATIONS
As a marketing professional, you have 3-6 years of experience in relevant positions, have deep knowledge of the West Coast market, and are active in the San Francisco and Bay Area app/gaming and/or mobile advertising community. You have at least 2 years of experience in digital advertising, with mobile advertising (tech, supply, or demand) a big plus. You must be able to demonstrate multiple successful deliveries of marketing activities. Experience in a start-up environment is a huge plus but not necessary providing you have demonstrated an entrepreneurial approach in your roles.
You have superior written and verbal communication skills; strong quantitative skills are a plus. You are creative when appropriate, but analytic in execution. You are relentlessly focused on delivery of results. You don't allow obstacles to deflect or deter you; you are a master of prioritization of your own time and the team's time. You have the charisma to get people to follow you, but the organizational skills to keep them pulling together towards the right goals.
You probably have at least a bachelor's degree, but not necessarily if you are able to demonstrate past successes. You are a team player, can and will contribute to the company's culture and spirit, and are a leader. You have a passion for growing companies and for seeing the outcomes that your vision and work have on consumers, businesses, and the industry. You aspire to great things, and are willing to work to get there.
