Telecom Software Technical Strategist

Overview

The Technical and Strategic Planning team is looking for a senior level Analyst/CTO type person to help define Huawei’s next generation software strategy. The successful candidate will have good working knowledge of software across a broad spectrum of technologies, and be able to work collaboratively with other business and technical people. You will be responsible for contributing to the technical strategy and planning of Huawei’s next-generation software products. You will use your entrepreneurial drive to help define innovative solutions that will differentiate Huawei’s offerings from others in the marketplace.
Position Responsibilities
- Gather requirements from stakeholders and convert them into technical design and strategy documents and presentations
- Ability to work with and support several different customers simultaneously
- Mentor junior and remote members of the team
- Bring to the table working knowledge in the following areas:
- Consumer
- Phone Operating Systems
- Mobile
- Big Data
- Carrier and Wireless
- Networking
- Consumer
Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements
Required
- MSCS
- At least 10 years of relevant experience architecting and implementing complex engineering products
- At least 5 years of experience in designing, developing and performance tuning of large-scale Enterprise or Web 2.0 architectures using scalable server infrastructures
- At least 5 years experience in different architectural styles, such as SOA
- Excellent understanding of software development life cycle best-practices
- Good understanding of security solutions, including experience in OAuth/OpenID, XACML, or RBAC
- Good understanding of virtualization technologies
- Excellent communication skills
Considered a plus:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science
- Good understanding of SQL
- Familiarity with different types of NoSQL solutions
- Good understanding of networking protocols
- Good understanding of file systems
- Good understanding of secure multi-tenancy architectures
- Familiarity with event-driven network programming frameworks
- Familiarity with message-oriented middleware and ESBs
- Mobile web development, Android, IOS
- Mandarin, foreign language skills <30% travel
