The Role
The Accounting Manager role is a key position within the Company, by maximizing the return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. The Accounting Manager will oversee both cost and general accounting duties, including accounts receivable/accounts payable, payroll and budget analysis. This position will report to the Controller.
Responsibilities:
• Create and assess financial statements and budget documents with accrual basis accounting.
• Perform general accounting duties, including book journal entries, perform reconciliations, prepare financial statements, and perform budget analysis.
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Recognize and be responsive to the needs of all clients of the organization, including funding organizations, the board of directors, participants, and employers.
• Supervise small staff, including regular progress reviews and plans for improvement.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience performing full-cycle accounting for a small to mid-sized company.
• Working knowledge of the health care or insurance industries are a plus.
• Prior auditing and payroll management experience helpful.
• Familiarity with Medicare reimbursement regulations a plus.
• Experience working with SAP by Design a plus.
• Advance working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• CPA a plus, but not required.
