· A proven ability to work quickly and independently and to provide professional documentation is required.
· Candidate must have excellent communications, business consulting, technical and project management skills. A mastery of the technical and process related aspects of the Cognos 8 BI Suite 8 is a must.
· Responsible for gathering requirements from Business users, design and develop reports using report studio tool
· Experienced in creating new Framework Manager Model and editing existing models. Must have good understanding of data modeling and cardinalities in Cognos Metadata
· Ability to analyze performance issues within Cognos FM and Report and timely resolution of the issues
· The candidate will consult and interface with internal Project Leads as well as internal clients. Design, develop and deliver project solutions to specified requirements on schedule and within budget following appropriate IM methodologies
· Ability to document for both users and developers proposed and implemented solutions
· Experienced Cognos hands on development, integration, performance, and user acceptance testing for complex systems
· Strong understanding of Oracle database technologies and hands on experience with SQL (Joins, Sub-Queries, Sorting, Unions, etc) and its performance tuning
· Ideal candidate would have followed Best Practice for report writing and metadata modeling and would also have datawarehousing experience.
Non-Technical Skills
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills are essential. Ability to perform administrative tasks: Team scheduling, communications and meetings. Candidate must have the ability and willingness to learn a highly complex series of data relationships.
· Must have worked in a team environment before, ideally in leading multiple Cognos developers.
· Experience working every phase of software development (Requirements Gathering, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment and Support)
· Ability and willingness to learn.
· Provide written and verbal communication such as status reports, progress reports and documentation to Information Management and business partners.

Methodology/Certification
· Understanding of Software Lifecycle Methodology; including writing technical specifications, formal testing, etc.
· IBM Cognos 8.3 or 8.4 Author certification
· Cognos 8 BI Professional certification preferred
· PMP preferred
· Cognos SIM familiarity a plus
