The HRIS manager is responsible for analyzing, reporting and maintaining the company's Human Resource Information System (HRIS). In this role, the incumbent provides project management, analysis and systems technical support to various HR areas, including but not limited to personnel records, recruitment and staffing, job evaluation, compensation management, benefits administration, training, and special projects.

Responsibilities

 

•             Plans and directs the establishment and ongoing administration of Human Resources Information Systems to support short- and long-range Human Resources goals.

•             Oversees the specification, development and implementation of new or redesigned systems, reports and policies and procedures for internal use. 

•             Manages relationships with software and hardware vendors and ensures the development of proper training and documentation for system use and maintenance.

•             Often consults with other division or department management in developing company-wide use of HRIS salary planning and reporting functions.

•             Establishes data tables, structures, files, interface requirements and data integrity protocols for ongoing administration.

•             Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

•             Maintains and audits HR data to ensure validity and integrity as well as accurate and complete reporting capability.

•             Manage system upgrades and patches, testing and other system changes in conjunction with IT.

•             Analyzes HR-related data and produces regular HR metrics for HR, management, and executive leadership.

•             Maintains/optimizes HR system defined tables, codes, and other setup requirements for efficient operation of HR Systems.

•             Collaborates and coordinates with corporate IT for development, interfacing, database and networking support

•             Serve as a liaison between employees and outside immigration counsel to monitor immigration status and process necessary documentation

•             Assist with providing onboarding training for new employees

Supervisory

The Manager HRIS oversees a group of HRIS Analysts and specialists; providing education and supervision on an ongoing basis.

Scope

Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.  Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.  Recommends changes to policies and establishes  procedures that affect immediate organization(s).

 

Job Complexity

Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.  Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.

 

Discretion

Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results will add to costs and may impact the short-term goals of the organization.

 

Interaction

Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company. Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.

 

Supervision

Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. In some instances this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.

Qualifications

 

Education and Experience

4 year college degree with 7 years of experience working with HR data and reporting; and 2 plus years managing a team. 

 

Language Skills

Good ability to communicate and describe requirements and influence outcomes. 

 

Math Skills

 Strong mathskills. 

 

Reasoning Skills

Excellent ability to solve moderate to complex problems.  Keen ability to solicit advice from business and IT leaders

Other Qualifications

Must be proficient at Oracle R12; ADP PCPW; Strong Excel Skills.
