We are creating a world class Telco Application Development PaaS and Big Data Analytics research teams in the Santa Clara area. These teams will be responsible for the Telco platform (PaaS) development and Big Data Analytics. We are looking for a highly motivated senior architect with strong design, software development, data management, Analytics, virtualization fundamentals, who wishes to significantly impact next generations of Telco Data Management and Analytics. We are looking for deep background individual in Data Management, Big Data and Analytics areas. Candidate should be creative thinker that can blend/combine in-depth knowledge and interest in data management, Big Data/Analytics, Hadoop, and virtualization. The ideal candidate must have considerable experience in some of the above areas, strong communication skills, and ability to be an independent thinker. Data Management and Analytics Cloud-based Principal Staff Software Engineer Qualifications and Requirements Strong system-level design and application development framework experience to be part of team building a Telco Big Data and Analytics platform. Track record in the data management development area. Familiarity with RDBMS internals, Big Data and Hadoop or Spark, Analytics and Cloud. Familiarity with Spark and NoSQL databases are a plus. Effective team player working closely with both architects and product managers to explore new features and enhancements for the evolution of the Telco Analytics platform. Familiar with Cloud and virtualization. Experience with open source projects Participate in open source activities is a plus; contribute back to the open source communities. Mentor other developers and drive the development process to deliver solid development platform. Demonstrate ability to be a “high level thinker” looking at the larger picture and bring new innovations and development approaches to the organization. Must Have: 12+ years of software design and development experience, with a solid data management, cloud based software development background. Development experience in the data management area with exposure to Big Data and Hadoop with exposure to different analytics technologies like Machine Learning, Statistical analysis, Neural networks, etc. Hands-on programming skill with at least two of the following languages: Java, Ruby, Go Language, Javascript, and C/C++. Familiar with development environment and tools on UNIX (Linux, Solaris, BSD). Knows how to troubleshoot system aspects of data management platforms including functional issues in cloud environment. Design with performance in mind. Strong problem solving skills Good communication skills and a team player Experience with working in projects with overseas teams Experience with Agile development process BS in CS/EE required, MS/PhD in CS/EE preferred Good to Have: Experience in Big Data platform like SPARK and R programming language.
