The Sage Group is looking for a Director of Business Analytics to work with our client, located in San Francisco, a leader in the retail beauty market. This position is responsible for leveraging data to uncover insights and deliver recommendations to drive strategic business decisions.
Our Client's Business Analytics team provides foundational elements for new company initiatives as well as supporting growth of the core business. The team partners with many cross functional areas including but not limited to direct marketing, website, merchandising, and finance.
Along with these responsibilities, the successful candidate is data savvy and has an intellectual curiosity to uncover true business drivers and present findings to business partners. He/she is comfortable with ambiguity and exploring new growth opportunities for the business. This role is a 4 to 5 month contract to cover a maternity leave, and ideally would like the person to start the first week of December.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Work closely with cross-functional partners to forecast and monitor business performance
• Transform business questions into actionable analysis to provide recommendations based on deep understanding of customer behavior
• Collaborate with analytics team members to support localization and personalization initiatives
• Evaluate post-launch performance for company initiatives, examples may include website re-design, new application launches, and site enhancements
• Develop automated reports that monitor customer behavior and provide a benchmark for actionable insights
• Complete ad hoc requests from cross functional teams to provide data driven insights and recommendations, examples may include new item evaluation and pre/post analysis
• Develop deep understanding of customer data and our data systems
• Provide objective information derived from data to support cross functional teams and their business areas
• Aid in design and implement tests that can be accurately measured to better understand how customers respond to various stimuli
QUALIFICATIONS:
At least 8 years' experience in as a manager or director of business analytics required
• Comfortable performing complex analyses to generate data driven insight and recommendations
• Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking and analysis skills
• Superb data analysis skills with the ability to extract and interpret data from multiple sources
• Great attention to detail
• Ability to dig deep into the details while keeping focus on the primary business question at hand
• Ability to communicate complex analyses and findings to various levels of the organization
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and handle multiple projects
• Experience working with cross-functional teams
• Requires bachelor���s degree
• Strong experience with data mining, forecasting, and statistical analytics tools, such as SAS or SQL. SAS preferred
• Experience with reporting, report automation, clustering, test/control measurement, pre/post analytics a plus
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint experience
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
