Business Analysis Manager

The candidate works in a dynamic, rapid application development environment. The business domain is asset management in the intermodal transportation industry. Relevant business knowledge is strongly preferred. The candidate will be involved in various aspects of requirements gathering, business analysis, and project coordination. This will involve interactions with both internal business users and external customers and partners.  

The candidate is responsible for managing and mentoring a team of business analysts. This person works closely with the management team to assign resources to projects, align priorities and ensure team delivery of expected results. This is a player-coach position that requires the individual to take on certain projects in Business Analyst capacity when required. Candidate must be focused, hard-working and self-motivated.

Responsibilities:

• Formalize and enforce adherence to business analysis processes and documentation.

• Document business processes, business requirements, technical requirements and system configurations.

• Mentor and guide Business Analysts in best practices with respect to Business Analysis and interaction with development teams. 

• Conduct all performance management related tasks including goal setting and performance reviews.

• Conduct one-on-one and team status meetings on a recurring basis.

• Maintain detailed understanding of resource bandwidth and project status, ensure that the team is producing quality deliverables in an efficient manner.

• Identify areas of risk and communicate to stakeholders; act as an escalation point for day-to-day tasks and project issues.

• Ensure adherence to the established methodology, champion IT standards.

• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, map requirements to the system/service solutions, identify and manage gaps.

• Coordinate / participate in the system testing

• Coordinate and execute data conversion efforts.

• Create and deliver project-related communication.

Requirements:

• 8 + years of extensive work experience as a Business Analyst. BA experience in the intermodal transportation industry preferred.

• 3 + years of experience in managing staff with direct responsibility for performance.

• Experience working with external customers.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience. 

• Ability to identify new business opportunities and areas for improvement.  

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

• Superior organization and time management skills. 

• Detail oriented with excellent communication at all levels of external and internal organizations.

• Flexible, adaptable team player with strong interpersonal skills and good work ethics.

• Highly motivated, entrepreneurial, self-starter.

• Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills
